Visitor Visa Post PGWP - Anyone???

Exactly 2 years ago I was in this same predicament. I was successfully granted a visitor visa after stating that I needed time to tie up loose ends. I followed the general rule of thumb, which was to declare about 1000 for each week you are requesting. In my case it wasn't a problem as CIC knew...

Track your PR card timeline and processing times here

I literally got off the phone with a CIC rep 2 mins ago. I resubmitted my photos apr 29, and was told that my card was processed and mailed yesterday. Assuming that they go in order, maybe yours is close behind.

Track your PR card timeline and processing times here

Unfortunately, you can add me to the list. Landed NOVEMBER 2015!!! Received 2 photo requests since then. Last was in April. Photos submitted April 29. Still waiting. My PR application was processed faster than the card. UNBELIEVABLE!!

Can PGWP holder apply study permit??

YES YOU CAN! I have held both at the same time. Graduated from 4 year Canadian degree, and instantly applied for 3 year PGWP. As soon as I got that, I applied for a student permit for a 1 year certificate program. Also got that. You will not be able to work and study at the same time, but if...

    PR photo

I'm in the same boat. The current processing time is 39 days, so at this rate, I would probably expect it at the end of March/beginning of April if we factor in time taken for delivery.

    PGWP question

You can certainly remain in Canada after March 31st IF you apply to "change the condition and remain in Canada as a visitor". What this essentially means is that you will be changing your status from student to visitor until your PGWP application is approved. During this time, you will not be...

Should I show a round trip ticket for step son and wife?

Definitely a round trip (with mother accompanying him). A one way ticket raises red flags, particularly in this case, where the child has strong ties to Canada (i.e. his mother).

    AOR in August 2015

Yup, weekends included. I kept a detail record of my timeline, and according to my notes, passport was sent on Oct 14 and I received it on Oct 28. I am located in Toronto. It took one day from the time it left Ottawa to the time I got it back. If you send it first thing in the morning, it should...

    AOR in August 2015

Mine took two weeks to be returned. I think you should be fine, but send it out as soon as you can, just to be safe as there may be delays with the holidays.

Cancelled passport with a valid visa

Rest assured, this is a common occurrence. There is no need to reapply for a new visa, if the current one is still valid. Be sure that you travel with and can provide both passports to IO, and you should have no problem. I was in that situation for 2 years, and it never once became an issue.

    Invitation Letter.

Malex, I was a grad student in the same situation as you this summer. In addition to the enrollment letter, I also suggest incl a letter from your parents stating that they will assume financial responsibility for you during the course of the trip. That's what I did, and I also attached a copy...

The mention of word Permanent in Work Reference Letter for FSW EE

Re: The mention of word Permanent in Work Reference Letter Nokia, it is only important to have the word "permanent" mentioned if your job is backed by an LMIA and you claimed the 600 points. If not, you are fine without it.

Am I allowed to be a part-time student during spring?

Menezes, rest assured, you'll be fine. I completed a 4 year degree, during which time I took Spring courses twice. Both times, I only took 2 courses at a time, and while I was technically part time during those semesters, it did not affect my ability to obtain a PGWP. I know lots of others who...
