Yes, I had to renew mine as well. Although it hasn't caused any delays to my case, it's better to inform them as soon as you can. Scan the passports and é-mail them stating the applicants full name, date of birth, UCI number and application # so they can link the photocopies to your case. Good luck.

Send it to the P.O. Box if you're using regular mail. You can always ask them if they deliver to P.O. Boxes just to be sure, I know EMS Japan does.
