My ex broke up with me when I moved to Canada

Heartbroke, Though it won't be easy, the best thing is to move on. I've had the same thing happen to me. During the applicationprocess (outland) my wife decided to end the process, cleaned out my bankaccount and garbaged all of my stuff. And started a relationship with someone else. As I...

Question about withdrawing a sponsorshp application.....

My wife withdrew our application and she got the confirmation 4 weeks later. They review the withdrawal and apparently it takes time too. Your e-cas will change once the withdrawal is official.

Who should be doing most of the work the sponsor or the applicant?

I thought I - being the applicant - did most of the work. My wife disagreed. So I think it was a draw ;) No problem with that.

    SPonsorship and divorce

There was another similar thread, but I can't find it anymore. Reading the immigrationmanuals on withdrawal any change in ones status has to be reported upon landing, this includes planned divorce. Misrepresenting the IO could lead to serious consequences, i.e. removal even if the PR is granted...

    Thread for MAY 2010 applications!!

Our plan was to do an inland application. I quit my job, house and moved to Canada. I however made a mistake by shipping some householdgoods. Since that was considered jumping the gun I was given a removalorder. that was hard on the relationship. My wife visited me twice since I was returned a...

    I'm done here

Eventhough my wife has withdrawn our application and effectively made it impossible for us to be together I still follow the stories of people (esp. the may applicants) who manage to hang in there together during a process that takes a lot out of couples. The fact that no one can tell you what...

How many people want to give up?

The waiting and not knowing when it's all going to be over can cause problems, even in the best relationships. It takes a lot out of people whos only goal is to be with the one they love and are not allowed to yet. My wife felt like her life was on hold during the proces. With only a few weeks...

The other side of US/CAN relationships, Anyone else care to share?

An interesting post. Last year I met my - now - wife and we started talking about immigration. I got adviced on the matter and based on that advice I quit my job, home, left friends etc. to wait out the immigrationproces in Canada (inland). I was aware of the fact that I could not work and I...

Canadian Immigrations question regarding the ARC

I have to deal with that too, so I ended up asking the Embassy. This was their reply: Dear Sir, Thank you for your e-mail! You may send your application for an Authorization to Return to Canada along with your sponsorship application, or we will at a later point advise you to send the...

Anyone else applying outland through Berlin???

This topic "ended" some time ago. Just curious if there are "people out there" that are going through the Berlin Office and their experiences dealing with that office. Our application has hopefully crossed the Atlantic by now. Sponsorshipapproval may 23th 2010. Good luck to you all.
