    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

My husband had his oath swearing in Mississauga on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. (His application was originally in, and interview taken at, Scarborough.) Ecas is now showing as "complete". Thank you to everyone in the forum for their support and information. We received your application for...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I received an email this morning inviting my husband to appear to take his citizenship oath on Wednesday, September 12 in Mississauga. We live in Oshawa and he had his interview at Scarborough. Going to be a long, but worthwhile, day. From processing to oath date will be just under nine...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

There seem to be a lot of us waiting for Scarborough. My husband had his interview on May 8 and DM May 9. The officer also told him that he would receive his oath invitation "soon". Nothing since then. Patience seems to be the key here.

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Things are very confusing now. Mississauga has 17 or 18 ceremonies scheduled for this month. Scarborough no longer even appears on the website!

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

The interview was very short; about 5 minutes. The officer checked his documents, asked if he had ever been arrested, does he live in Canada and what his address is.

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

My husband had his interview on May 8, 2018. According to the spreadsheet, people who had their test/interview in March are still waiting for oath invitations from Scarborough. I spoke with an IRCC agent earlier today and he said that everything was fine with my husband's application and to...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

My husband never (to my knowledge) had a COPR. He had his test at Scarborough in May and was not asked for it. The officer did tell him to bring it to the citizenship ceremony, but did say if he didn't have it, it wouldn't be a problem; it just may take a little longer to find his file on the...

Hopefully we will see a batch of oath invitations for Scarborough coming in soon. They have 23 oath swearing ceremonies scheduled for July. :)

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

My husband was asked for his COPR at his interview. He never got one as we applied through the Spousal Inland program and he was only given his PRC at the end of that process. The officer who conducted his citizenship interview said to bring it to the oath ceremony, but then said it wasn't a...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

If you appointed the lawyer as your representative, it should be sent to them. However, CIC often sends it to the applicant and not the lawyer. (I used to work for an immigration lawyer and this was an ongoing problem.)

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I note from the spreadsheet that a lot of Scarborough DMs are posted from May, but no oath invites as yet. Has anyone from Scarborough received one? I am travelling next month and my husband is travelling in July and neither of us are keen on changing the date for swearing-in if it is when we...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

My husband had his interview at Scarborough CIC this morning. It was scheduled for 10:15 a.m. and we arrived at approximately 9:50 a.m. The intake officer told me that I should leave as there were so many people and not enough chairs and to come back around noon. I left and went downstairs to...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I spoke to a CIC representative by telephone and she said to print off the email letter and take it to the appointment as one will not be sent via Canada Post.

Thanks. I really am! I gathered and prepared all his documents for his PR and Citizenship, including making arrangements for medical check, fingerprinting, police clearance certificates, etc. All he had to do was sign the documents and show up for his appointments. ;)

Thanks. It was in his email (which he hadn't bothered to check and would probably not have seen). Good thing I check on things for him!

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

Just checked my husband's ECAS: "We sent you a notice on April 19, 2018 to appear and write the citizenship test on May 8, 2018 at 10:15 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment." (The notice has not yet been received.) Apparently, my...

    November 2017 - Citizenship Applicants

I called CIC today to ask if they could give me an update on my husband's Application. I got a very accommodating representative who confirmed that his file is IP at the Scarborough office and that the criminality and another check have been done. She also confirmed that he does not have to...

He doesn't have to take the test...he's over the age limit. ;) He is able to travel with his PRC and he doesn't want me to contact IIRC for urgent processing. *rolls eyes*
