Zagy,
Similar thing happened to me as well. My Canadian visa got peeled because it wasn't properly glued to begin with. The page where the visa was glued got torn a little bit. I was nervous when I went to my interview after the test. The immigration officer just compared my passport stamps to...
I had a G4 visa in my passport that expired in 2010 but when I entered US on B1/B2 visa in 2013 the CBP officer sent me to the secondary inspection room where they canceled the expired G4 visa. I guess when I got my B1/B2 visa in 2011 or so the consular officer forgot to stamp 'canceled without...
Thanks Fadz!

They will only check your original IDs that you sent as part of your application. If you sent birth certificate as an ID then you will need to bring the original.
I know some people are getting their oath letters within a week and some within 4 months at Scarborough local office. I know two friends of mine got after a month. I passed my test exactly a month ago and still waiting.
I passed my test on May 5 and since then I called the CIC twice. The first agent I talked to said that I have to wait for the ceremony since I passed the test. The second agent I talked to said that my application is still in process and if all is well then the next step is the ceremony. Not...
Took my test on May 5. No update yet. Someone took the test on 27 of may already got the pink letter. I know someone whose test was on Feb 24 and still waiting...
Thanks Fadz! I am ok waiting. I have to go to US and to my home country. I have a 10 year visa to US and no need for visa for my home country. So having a Canadian passport is not super urgent for me right now :)
I would get them translated with a certified translator. It is like buying an insurance policy. After your test, the immigration officer may ask for translation of the stamps he/she doesn't understand.
Congrats Fadz!
I passed my test on May 5 in Scarborough. I just called CIC and the agent told me that the next step if all is well would be the ceremony and she said my application is in process.
