2 weeks to show up is too late. At least BLS site should show your data. For OCI site, it may take time.

Please read the Checklist/guidelines carefully. In the final page Signature box, only Kids thumb impression be there. And in the section below that both parents need to sign.

Yes, thats normal. Please check the status in the OCI website. 2 weeks after the BLS - Processing at Consulate status, you will see an acknowledgment. And then 3-4 weeks from there for the processing complete status. (This is almost the case for Brampton Postal apps)

Thats right. Passport Number is of your Canadian Passport. And the File ref is the Application number (CANXXXXX)

people who have been there says, if you be there by 6-7, you can come out before 9.

If you are not in a hurry..then relax. You can aply for OCI later. Visa will be useful for good 6 months , right

That acknowledgement is what you get to see in the OCI Status check webpage. And not any email. You can check that in "https://ociservices.gov.in/statusEnqury" Usually that comes up 3 weeks after you submit the application.

What is your actual place of birth ?! Wouldnt that cause an issue having two different info for the same data/

What acknowledgement email are you talking about ? We may get a mail from BLS about receiving our application (Check your spam box). Other than that, I dont know of any emails that come . And as per your dates mentioned, you will see the status of OCI in the India Gov OCI website, coming up as...

OCI Acknowledgement is usually 3-4 weeks after BLS receiving.

For Birth Certificates issued other than Canada and India, I guess you may have additional steps to follow. Instruction booklet says this If Birth Certificate is issued by any other foreign Country than Canada, the Birth Certificate is required to be attested by the High Commission / Embassy /...
