Yes. I don't think it's unusual that the status sits with "Documents Received". My wife's case has been the same since last November. My case was the same too, it became "Application has been approved" status from "Document Received". It's probably up to a person who is taking care of your file

    Foreign Service - Strike?

You are right. If, and maybe most case, you apply open work permit with your inland PR, you will have implied status. That is clearly stated here cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip06-eng.pdf PR application itself doesn't affect anything though

    Foreign Service - Strike?

my lawyer said applying PR wouldn't do anything with your status in Canada, no matter you are applying inland or not. no implied status either. so if she needs to leave Canada and come back in, she will need a valid entry visa; although korean citizen should be visa exempt for 6 months stay...

switching from work to visitor while waiting PR via sponsership

Thank you for you reply. Our priority is to be together no matter where. so we'll try to resolve issues at work first, then try to get visitor visa for her. We should have no issue getting visitors visa if that's only matter of supportive funds or anything like that. otherwise we'll just wait in...
