    Please help to select university

Places with lots of jobs (like Toronto) aren't necessarily easy to get jobs. 2 million jobs and 3 million who want a job, is the same as 200k and 300k jobs in a smaller city. Using your criteria of cost of living, and lesser fees for uni I have 2 words. GO... EAST. Dalhousie in Halifax...

    Visa sorted quickly!

Not normally of course, it takes around 2 months when the London office isn't striking. But at the moment they're processing the study permit for Western/Northern European very efficiently.

    Which University to choose?

I think this is going to come down, ultimately to whether you have your heart set on Ottawa, or if you're happy with Montreal or Halifax. For the record I love Halifax, and the maritime in general. Both universities are ranked very similarly, both charge about the same tuition and either would...

    Urgent-transit visa

It depends. If you are in possession of a valid Canadian Visa (which of course you will be), you are allowed to fly in and out within 24 hours hours. However, you must stay airside and go through airport connections. If your flights don't connect and you need to stay in a hotel, or you need...

Any One From Pak Who Stayed At London for More than 12 Hours on Way to Canada?

That is correct. Technically, you could travel via London with a Canadian Visa as long as your stay is less than 24 hours, but that would restrict you to staying air side for 22 hours, and you don't want to do that!

Any One From Pak Who Stayed At London for More than 12 Hours on Way to Canada?

I'm British and can hopefully clear this up for you. From Pakistan, if you arrive at a UK airport, stay airside and leave on another plane without clearing immigration you will need a "transit visa". If (as is your case) you arrive, leave the airport but do not stay in the UK more than 48...

Memorial university of NFL - Winter 2014

You are mixing up Newfoundland and Labrador, which is a big province and the City of St. John's which is a small city and a tiny part of the province. It's an important distinction because the province is very big, and split into 2 parts by the sea. The province unemployment is indeed 11% (and...

Memorial university of NFL - Winter 2014

As the last poster says, it's about numbers going for those jobs. There are two important points, ratio of jobs to those who want them, and the underlying unemployment rate of both cities. At this moment in time, St. John's wallops Toronto on both fronts. Take unemployment for example, it is...

Memorial university of NFL - Winter 2014

Wowzers. There's always one uninformed troll talking absolute guff. What's you've just said is typical of the average Canadian who doesn't know anything about the city, other than they like fish and the industry collapsed in the 1990s. Part time jobs are everywhere, such is the economic state...

Memorial university of NFL - Winter 2014

As far as rents go, if you get your own 1 bed studio, with bills you're looking at $1k a month after bills. If you share with other people as 99% of students do, you'll spend about $500 a month. This is pretty reasonable really, that's cheaper than I pay in the UK. Public transport is good...

Memorial university of NFL - Winter 2014

I'm going to study BA Arts (Geography). I'm on holiday here at the moment having a look around. It's a small little city but it's booming right now, the off shore oil has brought lots of money in. The whole city is so friendly. We're all very lucky to be heading to this outpost :)

Best bank to open an account?

Scotia Bank is the way to go. The most important thing with cards in canada is there is a usage fee so you can only authorize have a certain number of transactions per month. Student accounts tend to give you moree to play with, maybe 20 transactions per month. S Scotiabank offer their...

Student visa Refused under section: A40(1)(a).. (Requesting Seniors help)

The problem you have is it's one thing saying it's not fair, I do not accept this decision (a perfectly rational feeling if you've been hard done by), but actually challenging the decision is something entirely different. You have to ask yourself why they would change their decision and what is...

    SENECA OR CENTENNIAL

For what course and for how long? Seriously, they are both much of a muchness, decentish colleges in a similar part of town with similar fees and stuff. Accommodation for both will be between 600-1000 dollars a month depending on whether you have your own pad, or share with others. Placements...

Student visa Refused under section: A40(1)(a).. (Requesting Seniors help)

Unfortunately your options are somewhat limited. The 30 days to submit new information was in effect an appeal, and that appeal failed. You are now inadmissible until January 2015. So you can now either make other plans, at home or abroad, or wait until 2015 and try applying again.

    Nearly 8 Weeks since Application..

Hi there. When is your application for, was it this summer, or Winter? Your application would go through the Vienna office. They normally take 4 weeks, but unfortunately there are worldwide strikes at visa offices across the world so times are drastically increased. A lot of the online...

Visa approval chances and chances of course mismatch

Well you have to distinguish between a diploma and a post grad diploma, they are different things and serve different purposes. My understanding is the course you've listed is not post-grad, so there is no chance you can suggest progression there. As a side note though, CIC are unlikely to...

Visa approval chances and chances of course mismatch

Honestly, your visa chances are not good at all. Someone with a university degree applying to do a college diploma is almost always rejected. To get a visa to study in Canada you have to show progression in your studies so there's very little point unless you can get onto something postgraduate.

    rejected twice ..and confused why

Anil, I didn't mean to offend you. But I thought it was important to post something that wasn't sugar coated and was based in the real world. At the end of the day what I say to you has zero influence of the final decision. But it doesn't mean it's meaningless waffle. There are a couple of...
