Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Hi, I'm after some advice about medical cover for the first 3 months in NS.. Would I need to get separate cover or would travel insurance suffice? If I need a separate plan, can anyone recommend a company and do I have to apply after we arrive or can I arrange it before we land? I'm confused...

Please help! Can I renter Canada in such situation?

My hubby's PR card renewal went in to secondary review just before his short trip to the UK. He decided to take all his papers - landing papers, contract of employment, rental agreement etc etc. He returned via aircraft and at the point of entry explained to CBSA officer that there was a delay...

Email from CIC that PR card renewal needs secondary review

My husband had a letter dated 14 January saying he was going in to secondary review. Since then he's received the same letter in the mail on two separate occasions; so basically, he's received the same letter, dated 14 January three times??!! :o

Email from CIC that PR card renewal needs secondary review

My husband had a third line added to ecas saying they sent him a letter on January 14th. It still hasn't arrived. Should we be worried? Is it likely to be SR? Thanks

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Not yet, my hubby's coming over to help me dismantle some furniture and to get quotes for shipping our stuff over. We're going to get our heads together to decide on a date while he's here. Trying to weigh up the best time to arrive because of my youngest daughter's schooling etc. Plus the...

How romantic! I hope you can arrange something ♡♡♡♡♡ We want my husband to be there when we do our landing interview at Halifax but I'm not sure if it's allowed at the airport. Such a milestone, so it would be nice if it's possible. Good luck

Applying for family class visa immediately after marriage

I'm glad to be of help and yes! Looking at the guidelines and forms is really mind-blowing but I'm sure you'll be fine. At one point we considered appointing a lawyer to help us but after reading posts on here for 12 months prior to applying and doing a lot of research we realised we could do it...

Applying for family class visa immediately after marriage

Just another point... You mentioned if marrying immediately before applying looks suspicious but it worked out okay for us. We brought our plans forward when the age limit for dependants was lowered. If we hadn't, my eldest daughter would have been too old to be included. So I flew over and we...

Applying for family class visa immediately after marriage

It comes down to personal choice really. You have various options available to you but in terms of timing and when to apply I would look at the following:- Leave applying until you have firm plans to settle in Canada, by which time you would presumably have arranged living accommodation and...

How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

Hi, in my opinion the best way to organise your application is to have loose pages clipped in to 3 sections; Sponsor Principal Applicant Proof of Relationship Then, anything else like marriage/birth/ police cert's, medicals are filed in order according to each document checklist. When filling...

Applying for family class visa immediately after marriage

Two basic things I found invaluable to do before we applied:- Research on here as much as possible. Try and spend time searching for topics you think apply to your particular situation. Don't be afraid to ask basic questions because we've all been in your shoes at the beginning. Secondly...

Applying for family class visa immediately after marriage

Hi, in terms of getting married immediately before applying you have nothing to worry about. That's what we did and it was fine. Cic are looking for evidence of your relationship so as you have been commonlaw prior to your marriage you'll be okay. We'd been together as a couple for 6 years...

Email from CIC that PR card renewal needs secondary review

Okay thank you. I'm not sure if it's connected to the fact that he has just sponsored me. I received COPR on Friday so presumably they don't have any issues with his PR status. This is so stressful, he's booked a flight to come and help me pack up the house in February and now it looks like...
