After you have your PR processed and stamped you leave the immigration area via a small room which has desks where someone hands out leaflets, magazines, SIN and OHIP forms. The guy at the desk said I could apply for my SIN at a window at the far end of the immigraion hall (past the waiting...

Hi all I landed as a PR on Saturday and just wanted to share a quick summary of my experience as I know I was interested in other peoples before I landed: I landed at Toronto Pearson on Sat 30. At the customs desk I stated I was landing as a permanent resident and handed over my passport, COPR...

That's disgraceful! What if this happens when I fly over (on a saturday). Are the going to deport me? Or lock me up until Monday morning? You really have to wonder what CIC are playing at sometimes.

Is it being sent to a UK address? Mine was posted on 25th Oct and arrived yesterday. It is sent via Royal Mail Signed For so they will be able to track it

Finally got my COPR in the post today! 20 days after decision made. I'm going to book a flight over to Canada for 30 November and live like a Mountie for the rest of my life! Documents look in order but does anyone know if it will be a problem that they failed to update my sponsor's address...

Hi, I'm in Cambridge, UK so you would think post would not be a problem. It's a shame we do not track the time between Decision made and getting COPR on the spreadsheet. By going through the past 3 months of the forum (yes I am that bored waiting!) I can see two people took 7 days, 1 person 8...

I wouldn't be worried at all if you sent it off in June or July. I send mine off in May and had a decision made 2 weeks ago (but nothing further!) which is what I expected. Fingers crossed it will be before the end of the year. If you look at the spreadsheet you can see everyone's processing...

Congratulations on all the Decisions made in the last week! I'm still waiting for something, having had decision made on 9 Oct. 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm going nuts waiting! I work from home which means I run to the door like a dog everytime the post arrives. This part is more frustration than...

Our situation is that I am in the UK and my sponsor has been back in Canada since July. She contacted her local MP in Toronto (It has to be a Canadian MP) in August and they had an immigration person who was able to help us (from what I can gather most MP’s will have someone in their office...

We have pretty similar timelines so hopefully you are close too. Maybe even in process. Just for reference I have only travelled to Canada and Australia for more than 6 months, which seems to be one of the main things that determines how long the application takes to process

Ahhhh! Decision Made!!!! Just logged into ECAS and states they started to process my file on October 7, 2013, medical results were recieived, and then the line that tipped me over the edge: '4.A decision has been made on Neil Andrew O'Connor's application. The office will contact Neil Andrew...

My finacee sent me this from the Toronto Star this week. How can this action be going on for nearly 6 months!? Frustrating Permanent residency applicants appear to be taking the biggest hit from ongoing job action by foreign affairs officers, prompting concerns about whether Ottawa’s 2013...

Hi After an enquiry by my sponsors MP in Canada we were given a bring forward (I think thats what they called it) date of 15 Sep. What does this mean? Does this mean they have looked at the application? Thanks
