Renewing passport when being a PR

I am a PR of Canada and hold two passports - Australia and UK. I used my Australian passport for my PR application. It expires early next year and I am in the process of renewing it. I have some trips to the US planned in the next few months. If my new Australian passport is not received in...

Hey benjis_monikuss, Have you received your PR card yet? I am at 90 days and nothing has been received. I spoke with CIC yesterday and they said my PR card hasn't been printed as yet. They said to call if it hasn't been received by June 22nd which will be 106 days - a week longer than it took...

Have any of the recent arrivals received their PR cards? I arrived on 08 March and just saw on the CIC website the processing time is now 76 days! Slightly longer than the 6-8 weeks I was told when I landed.

visa exempt passport can re-entry without PR card?

Hi zinneken. I left Canada without my PR card a week after landing and returned with no problem. I checked with the agent when I landed and he said that technically I shouldn't leave without my PR card however as I was from a visa waiver country I wouldn't be denied entry upon my return. I...

Congrats on getting your PPR Torvic. If you are from a visa waiver country you will only need to send PDF copies of all pages of your passport. You won't need to send your physical passport.

I hope so although I think I got very lucky and am more exception than rule. Let's hope they are still churning through applications in the Sydney office for everyone's sake.

AUGUST 2013 OUTLAND (only) applications!! Here is your thread!!

All I can recommend is to stay positive. Prepare as though it is going to take the average time as per the CIC website and hope for the best. If it comes through a day / week / month / year before the average then it is a bonus. Also, don't check your application status. You will probably hear...

You'd think that. It still didn't stop me from checking almost every day. ECAS is a funny thing. I'd already had the email from CIC before the status changed to "in process" and I had picked up my COPR documents from the Sydney VO before it changed to "decision made".

Hang in there mate, it will come through soon enough. I left Canada a month after submitting my application and booked my flights to come back six months later. I got back to Sydney, committed to a six month contract at work and then as luck would have it my PR was sorted two months later. It's...
