Help me count if im eligible to apply citizenship?

I will highly advise to use the 'real' calculator by CIC to see if you are eligible or not. It doesn't really take a lot of time and this is something you will need to do either way if you are planning to apply. Enter all information, including absences, in the calculator and see what the last...

Second thoughts - Question 9c: Did you live outside Canada?

Unless I'm mistaken, don't you have to attach the additional form if you select YES to this question? I'd say confirm if you should do both - add the additional filled out form and the explanation letter. This would be the 'safest option'.

Second thoughts - Question 9c: Did you live outside Canada?

This is why it is a confusing question. Technically you were 'living / residing' outside of Canada during that time i.e. you had your residential address not in Canada. I'm more focused on the word 'reside' here.. maybe other seniors can shed more light on your situation.

Second thoughts - Question 9c: Did you live outside Canada?

I have already submitted my application back on Oct 12. However, one thing keeps bugging me about question 9c (I was pretty confident when I selected the answer). I know there has been some difference of opinion on this question in the threads. I was living in Canada during my eligibility...

For all those who sent their applications today oct 11 2017 what mistakes did you make?

Does not matter if you select Yes or No. This is an optional question and the choice here has no impact to your application - it will actually become effective if you are granted citizenship. If you read the description right below the question, you will see what I'm talking about.

    Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

Almost all questions should be answered for the full 'eligibility period', which for you starts from 12/10/2012. So for question 11, you will need to mention what you were doing from 12/10/2012. Question 9(c) is a bit confusing one for other scenarios. However, in your case, I think you will...

    Need help

It's as simple as to answer the question: Did you stay for more than 183 days in a country outside of Canada the last 4 years? Assuming you apply this month then last 4 years would start from Oct 2013. Oct 2013 to Feb 2014 = around 150ish days (do calculate the exact days to be sure). Then also...

    Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

Agree that it is a bit confusing. However, when I read the guide and the help text for the question, the primary reason for it seemed only to determine if your time outside Canada can be used towards physical presence requirements which didn't apply to me. Anyways, it is too late to change - I...

C-6 Citizenship Applications, Frequently Asked Questions

No need to attach any print outs. Just mention your exit entries in the physical presence calculator and that's it. CIC has access to CBSA to get your travel records themselves (that is actually a requirement from their end as it is more accurate data).

    Citizenship Applications after Bill C-6

This seems to be another one of those 'divided opinion' question on here :) My take is that 'live' is where you actually started living and changed your address in a way. If you are primarily living in Canada and visit other countries for few weeks, it is still vacation and not 'living'. I put...
