Ultra99, which uni did u apply from? I think you can go for an emergency passport renewal, it should not take very long.

I had encountered this problem while applying too. However, I only uploaded new passports as my old pp file was really long. But then I was worried about not providing it. So, I emailed them and attached my old pp with the email. But I am guessing it is not totally required as it does not ask...
