Leaving Canada before PR card arrives

Yes, but i may be in a position to return to Canada having finalised things this end before the PR card is available as it can take 30 business days or more to arrive. I am just looking into the possibility of re-entering without it. If there is no option to re-enter, i will just wait for it...

Leaving Canada before PR card arrives

Thanks! That is the current method we will opt for but i've heard it can take in excess of 30 business days to get the card, plus postage times to the UK on top of that, i could be looking at 6 weeks or more. I was hoping after this short trip/landing to return within the month. I guess i may...

Leaving Canada before PR card arrives

Hi all, I have searched the forum but found uncertain and conflicting answers, looking for someone with concrete experience! I'm from the UK, visa-exempt country and will be landing in Canada in about 3 weeks. I will only be around for 2 weeks, as i have to return home to finalise the sale of...

    Photos for medical exam

Although i saw a DMP here in the UK, i just used passport booth photos for my medical. It was only the rest of the application that i strictly adhered to the photo specifications in the appendix.

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Fenna1: I'm sure all will be ok. The fact you are both in the same line of work must sit well with the IO handling your case. Compatibility between couples is looked at with education and work being used as a small part of this to determine such. That's not to say that a couple who share no...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Sure. I'm the applicant, being sponsored by my (Canadian) Wife. Met in March 2008 in Banff Snowboarding. We talked/skyped/emailed until July 2008 before deciding to give our developing relationship a go. Both travelled back and forth A LOT!!!! We spent a small fortune on flights the past 2...

    Immigration Photos from the UK

Well, i'm sure (ish) that my photo's taken by a photographer weren't on a 'white' background, but it was a VERY light grey. We were approved (pending return of passport) so I'd have to say it's a judgement call without really knowing how 'grey' the background is...

    Panicky and overwhelmed!

This is a common situation for many applicants looking to include photographic proof. It is perfectly acceptable to include photos of you both separately, so long as it can be seen that the location is the same. We did this for some of our pictures.

    Writing out our Relationship Documentation.

Yep, apologies! I did give blood. Given my fair share recently, it's all blurred into one so must have forgotten about it. Either that or i passed out and never noticed...... lol

    Writing out our Relationship Documentation.

Our 'development of relationship' was about 4 typed pages long. We didn't include anything about our physical relationship, although I'm not suggesting you omit it, just to decide whether you feel it's appropriate for your explanation or not. I can see why people do include it, after all it's a...

    Writing out our Relationship Documentation.

Personally, we wrote it out together from an 'our' perspective rather than myself and my wife separately, but each persons case is specific, plus we are living together so was easier to write that way. Others who are apart may write it as relevant to them. Don't worry, it wall all be fine. All...

Thread for Outland LONDON, UK Applications!

Congratulations! Almost finished! I dropped my passport into CHC London yesterday by hand. I can go pick it up in 2 weeks and then it will all soon be over bar the landing. Just a few loose ends to tie up here, such as sell my house and resign from my job! As a side note for any future PPR's...

We didn't, but we paid up front. I'm unsure if it's a good sign or not, but here's hoping it is!

Original letters/pictures/cards included in application. Do I get these back?

Same. Photocopied or scanned. Not because we wanted them back, but in case our application was destroyed/lost/stolen or who knows what on it's way round the world! If we ever needed to recreate the application, we could.

Original letters/pictures/cards included in application. Do I get these back?

We scanned all of our cards and letters etc. on to additional sheets of paper which we attached to the back of the relevant form that required that particular proof. Photographs are digital so we just printed extra. We have just got our PPR and no sign of any documents being returned, so i'd...
