    sending document copies to universities

As a Canadian applicant to University, I was required, no matter what the University was, to have my previous transcripts submitted DIRECTLY to the University. And, that just so happened to include UWO. I can't see it being different for foreign applicants. It might be possible, I can't recall...

    Questions on Sponsoring spouse form

That's absolutely correct. It's called Dual Intent. But, we went at it a year later, as a married couple with Dual Intent and we sailed through it. I did a ton of research on this and i can almost quote the policy on dual intent verbatim...It says "Dual Intent in and of itself cannot be the only...

Re : SOP for Memorial U.

Sorry, I'm not sure i understand your question but I'll guess at your meaning: When you apply to study in Canada, you apply for a Student Visa (or maybe it's called Study Visa). Using that visa, you can stay here and study for the duration of your courses. I think usually, they will allow, on...

    sending document copies to universities

If it's identity documents, I'm not so sure about the copy business but it is not at all unusual, certainly in immigration, for them to ask that copies be notarized as a true copy of original and I'm guessing that is what is meant here. As you stated, if it's academic marks, then yes i agree...

    Sheridan or George Brown?

Check craiglist.com for Toronto rents, or one of our newspapers...maybe Toronto Star (Torstar.com ??). Ya it's crazy in Toronto. You can of course team up with other students but we have strict rules about how many people can live in an apartment or room. If you wanted just a 1 room 'bachelor's'...

    need help humber college

Ok, well CIC won't have that but the College will. I still think you should go somewhere else on account of high rental fees in Toronto. Good luck, whatever you do.

    baggage on board

Tobacco products are allowed but do check with Cathay. They must be declared to Canadian Customs on arrival and as soon as they see Houka Flavours, you are going to be opening up your bags for inspection. .... GUARANTEED and subject to scrutiny. If it's legal you can almost certainly find it...

query about canadian diploma after b.tech

Apply to SAIT in Calgary or NAIT in Edmonton for their Power Engineering Course...even just the 4th Class program. 2 years. You will be getting lots of lucrative job offers before you even finish the course and your offers will come from companies that can take care of your immigration needs for...

    spouse visa

What are the details of your Judicial Review ? Is your wife involved other than listed as a first order relative ? What court is it before ? The grossly backlogged Federal Court ? I don't think there are lawyers trolling these forums to give you the quality advice you might need. If you don't...

    working off campus

By the way, I don't think you are at any risk of putting this question to a CIC call center agent. They won't come and arrest you and whisk you off to the airport for asking. You will get a more authoritative answer, not that CIC isn't known for giving people incorrect info. Just ask them...

    need help humber college

The only time I've ever encountered that word prospectus is when companies wish to sell stocks for their company, on a public stock exchange, they must file a prospectus for potential investors. So, I don't understand the question and I've passed through several Colleges and Universities here...

    Sheridan or George Brown?

Both have about the same reputation. Get as far away from Toronto as you can because rents are crazy expensive. If you still have the option, I'd apply to Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Cheap rents, great school. Good local employment scene.

in big trouble please help me to get out of it

I'm not sure by reading your story that you did lie. If your situation changed and you completed the program later, so you are mentioning it now on your application, that's fine. However, if you did not properly account for those years of studying for it then yes, you are in a difficult...

Re : SOP for Memorial U.

I think the second option sounds a lot better. I don't think the school admissions office would be impressed by being told that the student is applying for school just to get into the country. I'm sure studying here will help your chances at a PR later but there are a lot of people that seem to...

    Travel and tourism Diploma

About the only advice I have is to not fool yourself into believing you are going to find a job in T & T in Canada. Like so many other countries, it's considered to be an easier diploma to get and there are lot's of people with that credential, already in Canada, who never found work in the...

    TRV extension outside Canada!

The only experience I've had is that once you get a TRV they are pretty easy with extensions, within reason. A first extension shouldn't be a problem and if it gets rejected, there are no barriers to you applying for another one from scratch. They are also, I think, cheaper and faster to process.

    Proof of Relationship question

It's going to be far more credible and in English if you get it done here. I also have some other good news for you. Many Members of Parliament offices now are authorized to notarize documents and they do it for free, for federal government things. Have your sister find out who her M.P. is, call...

    Questions on Sponsoring spouse form

I already spoke to the matter in an earlier post. Our Charter of Rights prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, so of course they are not going to articulate a policy, in public, that does and of course they are going to allow some cases to pass, in case they were challenged...

    Questions on Sponsoring spouse form

Iwas told by my MP's office in an 'off the record' kind of way that they reserve common law apps for people that cannot get legally married. The reason my wife's TRV app was rejected is they weren't confident she would return to her native country before it expires (extensions not withstanding)...
