    Thread for October 2010 Applicants

You have to land before your visa expires. The expiry date normally coincides with EITHER the 1 year anniversary of your medicals OR your passport's expiry date, whichever comes first. In rare cases, the visa office SOMETIMES extends the medicals' validity so that they can give you a later visa...

Visa recived but mistake on CPR please help

When you go to land, the border officer will specifically ask you if your address has changed and/or if the one on your COPR is correct. Tell them the correct address then and they can change it for you. Just don't forget!

    1) Thanks for getting back to me so soon. I was able to edit the table again, with your exact dates :). (After a post gets old, it can no longer be edited, but apparently my table post was still new enough for me to edit it for you again.) 2) Your representative is correct, in that they do...

    Thread for outland Buffalo applicants!

I just wanted to post a quick update, to let everyone know that I landed safely at Fortune, NL yesterday (August 2). I'm still worn out from the trip and seem to suddenly have a ton of things to do, so I'll probably have to wait to post a more detailed landing experience post until later. Good...

    Thread for October 2010 Applicants

Sorry I missed your post, Alex121. Going by your dates, it looks like you're actually a September applicant, but I can definitely add you to the table if you want. Would you happen to know or remember any exact dates that I could use to put your details into the table? (If not, I can just enter...

    Thread for October 2010 Applicants

Oh wow, I'm gone for a couple days and come back to see even more good news in this thread :). Congrats, guys! I landed yesterday afternoon at Fortune, NL. ( @ QCSunshine: Buffalo never kept either one of the two photos I'd sent them; 1 was attached to my COPR, the other was sent back to...

I wonder if you and I will land the same day. We were able to get last minute ferry and hotel plans made for St. Pierre for both us and the in-laws. So, we're leaving first thing tomorrow morning and will be back Tuesday evening. If all goes well, I should be landing when we cross back into...

As far as I know, only Tuesdays and Thursdays at Buffalo are days when they allow and process walk-in passport submissions for PRs.

Confusion about pictures for medicals in the United States

The issue is that the US region specific guide does not tell you how many photos you'll need for your medical -- or even that you'll need any at all (you will). The only way to know is to call your DMP and ASK them. They will tell you how many to bring. It varies from DMP to DMP, but most people...

medicals - medical report section A

Well, I should clarify that the doctor sends the results to the regional medical centre responsible for your region -- which may or may not be Ottawa. I'm just so used to saying Ottawa that it was the first thing that came to mind when I first replied. Either way, I have heard of a few people...

medicals - medical report section A

This is correct. The doctor gives you Copy 2, and sends the actual results to Ottawa later. I can't remember if it actually says "Copy 2 of Medical Report Section A" on the form, though. Either way, it is supposed to have your photo attached to it, and it will be labeled somewhere as IMM1017.

Yep, which is why I mentioned that my post was just based on what I had read at the time. ;) I certainly don't get to read every single post in this thread, though I've often tried to. It doesn't change the fact that people who have been initially given F file numbers were then, at some point...

DRA. CAMILLE SANCHEZ TIMBOL DIDN'T FORWARD THE MEDICAL TO EMBASSY IN MANILA

Actually, if the medical was done somewhere other than North America, the designated regional medical centre may not be Ottawa. Different medical centres handle medicals for different regions. According to CIC's webpage for Appendix I of the DMP handbook, there is a specific centre in the Manila...

Doesn't mean a thing. There's no reason for you to ever need both. (To be clear: For all we know, everyone gets both numbers now. But you only ever need to know one.) The B file number is what they typically give you. You won't need the F file number for anything if you already have the B...

No one seems to know for sure, but eletyl's recent thread suggests the F file number may refer to the electronic version of the main B paper file.

Re: Passport submission Yep, it's only for family members who will be accompanying you as new PRs. It's so they can attach the PR visa, etc to your passport(s). The photos are mainly for your PR card.

And quite possibly some tears, after all the years of us trying to get to this point. I can't really even wrap my head around it right now. Update: Got my passport back with my PR visa and COPR today! :) A few interesting things: The visa's "date of issue" is July 7, 2011 -- one day before...

Got my passport back with my PR visa and COPR today! :) A few interesting things: The visa's "date of issue" is July 7, 2011 -- one day before my PPR. I'd always assumed it would be the actual date that they attached the visa to my passport, but I guess not. My medicals were due to expire...
