    My understanding is you need a Citizen Certificate to apply for the passport and that takes 5 months to get.

    My understanding is that I have to hand in my PR card at the oath ceremony. Do they then issue me an alternative card. How do I continue to travel after I become a citizen? My understanding is it takes months to get a passport. Can I just enter and exit Canada on my old country's passport?
