Just want to share that it took 28 months for me (routine, single, never left Canada) from start to finish with my citizenship application. I applied for a passport after 2 weeks haven't used it so far. I know the waiting is an overkill but as they say, patience is a virtue. I am sure one day...

Just to share about a scam: Filipino workers who applied and paid a big amount of money from Dubai to work in a hotel in Alberta found out when they arrived there was no employer in sight. Just to let others know and beware. Be informed. Thank you.

It took me 28 months from application (Dec 2010) to oath taking (April 2013). No RQ, no travel outside of Canada, single applicant, working.

Took my oath two weeks ago, took a day off from work. My time at the invitation was 1:15pm, we had to fall in line, showed 2 ID's (old & present passports), CIC took my PR card, returned my old passports. Told me to find my seat as indicated on the sheet. There were 85 of us who took the Oath so...

Thank you very much. It was a touching and memorable day for me as well as 85 new Canadians. There was a long line up before the ceremony but before 3pm it was over I think.

No RQ, I was never out of Canada. It has been a long wait but no complaints. Patience is a virtue.

Hello People. Just want to share good news: Today, I received a Notice to Appear - to take the oath of citizenship on 24 April/13, VIA Rail Station, Winnipeg. Took test on March 7/13. From time I submitted my application to oath taking: 27 months total. Good luck to all.

When did you submit your application? I submitted mine in july 2011 and it is still in process until now. I just checked the average processing and it shows it's now 23 months it started with a little over a year but now it's almost 2 years. I am starting to think that it is being delayed so...

Re- "Did anyone get the RQ based on your observation on your test day?" I didn't even know what an RQ is until I joined this forum. I only noticed some people ahead of me on the line took longer with the CIC personnel than I did.
