AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

I shipped my PP by Express Post on March 18th (same day I got PPR lol). Based on what I have read average is somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks, so I wasn't anticipating COPR until April 8th or so. I even marked it in my calendar! I only knew because I had signed up for alerts from Canada Post when...

AOR in November 2015 - Let's get together

Hi Tiffany, I wouldn't worry too much! I am truly shocked mine was processed so fast, especially given the holiday, it just seems crazy. But I did pay for the expedited shipping going there, still it only arrived early last week. I am sure you are going to get COPR soon!

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

CIC wants to see you make a commitment to Canada, so yes mist of the routes take some time. Why the hurry? 2 years still pretty quick for immigration. If Canada isn't really where you want to be, maybe try another place with a different scheme? It will be an uphill effort for sure. If you go...

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

So you want to accumulate foreign work experience at a distance while still living in Canada as a temp res? I'm not sure it would fly with CIC, but admittedly it's new territory. So many people work at a distance these days but the laws are still catching up. It's a long haul option but you...

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

I don't know. It's one thing to be self-employed with an open work permit and try to claim as experience or to work to pay the bills as self-employed at a distance but not use it for experience, but I don't see how you could claim self-employment as experience without a valid work permit for the...

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

I should clarify, self-employment experience is not considered valid for work experience by CIC. At least to my knowledge? I was not personally able to count this.

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

It's essentially self-employment. I do this kind of work also, actually. None of my clients consider me employees for tax purposes, so I file all of my return receipts as cash receivables. But I do not count on this for my work experience, it will not be valid for immigration per se but while...

Working for an employer overseas over the internet while in Canada, is it legal?

I think you are fine. What is your citizenship? US? You will likely be reporting any of that income on your return in your country of citizenship. It obviously will not be associated with your SIN number.

For BC PNP candidates with BG already in progress, what do you think of the update e-mail? Meaningless or means a real update? I can't decide... I have been BG in progress since December
