The way I see it; if you have a good job/prospects where you are, then a move to Canada has to be for more than financial reasons i.e. stable democracy, stable/fair judiciary,some sort of state health care, good infrastructure etc. Even then, you have to check if moving to Canada is worth it...

Wayne, Thanks for the reply. However I am landing before my wife gets to Canada(she has to finish some work before she can travel) and the account is in her name. I don't have an account in Canada. Just to be on the safe side I think I will take out US $ forex for the amount I need just in case...
