Denied refugee, new laws confusing? - Spousal Sponsorship

Hello linxord, Are you still having trouble? I realize this thread is a month old. In case you still need the advice, I would say it depends on the lawyer. I've heard plenty of horror stories of people spending money on a lawyer who then went on to screw up their application anyway. I think...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Hi guys, Does anyone know how long it usually takes between getting DM status on ecas and actually getting a letter or email? I'm sure it depends on the IO, but a rough approximation?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Mimi, like computergeek said, having a failed refugee case will likely raise some red flags on your case and increase the chances that you will be asked for an interview which could delay your AIP by up to 2 years. Once you get your AIP, CBSA will put a 'stay' on your removal order meaning that...

    and the end

I'm so sorry to hear that, Eloh. I guess I can understand how this process can strain a relationship that didn't yet have a chance to mature by a shared life together. Four years of a relationship with 2 of that being apart doesn't make for a very strong foundation, especially when you've had...

Sent apps have not arrived yet!

Try this site: http://www.packagemapping.com/ Oftentimes tracking isn't very reliable across the border, so it could just be that. I've often shipped items from the US to Canada and did not get any tracking information after it reached the Canadian border.

    Question 4 Generic Form

Send it to Vegreville. Since the same forms are used for inland and outland applications, this question determines where the application is sent. There's an INLAND 2013 thread too that you might find helpful.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

First off, if you apply inland, it is highly inadvisable to leave the country during the processing of your application as you risk having it refused. I forget the details, but you might want to look into it. As to your question, you have to get the medicals done by a physician authorized by...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

The wording of that is kinda funny, but unless things have changed since last year, you should've written 'Vegreville' as this is the office you want to be processing your application. As far as I can remember, there were no tickboxes for 'outland' or 'inland' so this is the only way you have...

@ wolanila LOL @Lisa11 Somebody correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not positive on this one, but I think if you withdraw your application before stage 1, you get your fees refunded?

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Yeah >.< I guess they're trying to strip it down to the bare bones of conjugal partnership minus the common-law and spousal qualifications. Very confusing though.
  17. V

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Oh I just looked it up too. Yes you're right. 'Conjugal sponsorship' is an entirely different animal. I hope we didn't confuse Lisa11 :P Lisa, to be clear, in order to be considered in a 'common-law' relationship, you have to be in a 'conjugal relationship' as defined above. However, like...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

There is? I've never heard of that before. How is that different from spousal sponsorship?
  19. V

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Well, traditionally, "conjugal" implied marriage so in that sense no, Lisa isn't in any way a conjugal partner. But in the legal sense, a common-law relationship is defined as a conjugal relationship.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Just to add a little to this, if you can't prove you'd been in a "marriage-like relationship" (i.e. conjugal) for over a year for the sole reason that all your documents have been dated less than a year, I would just withdraw the application and then reapply after the year has passed. Also...
