Wife landed this evening. Immigration took around two minutes. Queue time was less than those holding Canadian passports. Cheers to all for support and information. Good luck and take care, Mike

How long to get through immigration upon PR arrival?

Can anyone shed some light on how long it will take for my wife to clear immigration and customs at Pearson? Are there any questions posed at this process or do they just check the passport? Thanks Mike

Hi Phan, My wife just had her application processed through Singapore, she is Thai. I've been watching the posts here regularly and have not heard of anyone being interviewed by Singapore. We, too, were wondering about an interview but it was not requested. Unless your situation has some...

    Scared to Make the Move

Sounds like you have a pretty good opportunity for a financially prosperous future in Australia. Canada may not afford you the same outcome. If you give up that future potential and fall flat in Canada that will eventually create resentments. Perhaps your wife can spend a few months in Canada...

    Good News (we think)

Graeme, I had assumed that your wife would receive final instructions before we would. It should arrive next week. We all put in our time here, mate. My wife left Canada in October to start the process from Thailand due to problems with her birth certificate. We originally banked on 3-4...

    Right of PR payment!!!

Hey fingers, I don't think that they really care where the payment comes from. Did you send a copy of your receipt to the Singapore office? My wife just went to the police station and they said that she can pick up her documents on the 28th. Has your wife gone, yet? The right of PR fee was...

Advice on when to change legal name? and renew passport?

My wife is in the process of finalizing her PR(just waiting for police certificates). We don't know if she should change her name on her passport while in Thailand, or to wait until she comes to Canada? Additionally, her passport expires in December. She will be arriving in Canada in August...

    Good News (we think)

Hey gents, Singapore responded today that our interview was waived and that my wife's medical forms don't expire until October(1 year) and don't need to be redone. All that's outstanding is a Thai police certificate which we'll submit this week. So all is well here. Hopefully, Graeme will hear...

    Hello Graeme and Mikeandlana!

Hey Graeme, Just a quick note in regards to ecas. Our file has never shown anything other than the in Canada portion as having been processed. Nothing for my wife which prompted me to contact Singapore. They said it was in the system and I'm assuming that they are not very diligent in...

    Crossed canadian border illegally...any hope.

The best way to adjust your status is to leave. I think that most people are with me in saying that to be a Canadian is to respect the rule of law and to do things in a respectable fashion. That's why we're all here going through this long process. You starting off on the wrong foot to...

Hey fingerscrossed, Congrats on going back to school. I'm just finishing up some courses myself through Athabasca and studying for the LSAT. It sounds like your well along in the PR process, so hopefully the wait will be over in the near future. I believe that if your wife enters Canada on a...
