My daughter and I landed yesterday by plane in Edmonton. The customs officer was smiling when he called us up and started an awesome landing experience. My parents-in-law and step-son were less than an hour from the Coutts/Sweetgrass crossing, and the border officers had told my husband twice...

As far as how long it takes (not including poor Ivan's case) to go from PPR to COPR, we were pleased to get ours sent to the US in 23 days. We didn't send any emails or correspond with CIC until the PPR and then sent a couple of polite emails explaining my issue with my lease expiration, and...

Ivan, that certainly sounds like that could be it! Hoping this is the end of your long journey. Packing, packing, husband and parents are driving to Texas from Edmonton as we speak and should be here tomorrow. We've been married for a year, and, now that we're actually going to live together...

Agreed, seems like a nonsensical approach to me, as the majority of those in the US still receive a PPR. Our passports were nowhere near the expiration date and copies sent at the beginning, and, since they only ask to see the cover page, there's no evidence of stamps which show any travel...

Adeolu, our PPR came on 6/7, and I returned it by email on Sunday, 6/9. From what I gather from CIC responses, it was approved for COPR on 6/13 and put into a print queue, mailed on 6/21 and arrived in Texas on 7/1.

That should be it, and I would expect at least 2 weeks for snail mail. One of the emails we received when we sent an email request indicated that it was approved: Dear Applicant, Your application for permanent residency was approved on 2013/06/13. Your COPR is in queue for printing, once...

My husband and I both ended up emailing them several times about the COPR with the same results... once was almost immediately, the third time almost 2 weeks later when the situation was already resolved.

Brightredscream, if you're in the US, I can tell you that mine took about 2 1/2 weeks to arrive after the COPR processing. Mine was supposed done on June 13th, and I received it on July 1st. Just be waiting at the mailbox every day... ::)

For those asking about the COPR timing, I noticed that many people, without additional info requests, received theirs in 2 or 4 weeks. I'm guessing that those residing within Canada receive them in the 2 week period, and those residing outside in the 4 week period. According to emails from...

Well, it seems safe to say that the strike doesn't seem to be causing issues; in fact, there seems to be more activity!

OK, listening to the landing info, have a question. We're flying to Edmonton on August 2nd from the US, where we're living now. We'll "land" at customs, right? Then, a few days later, we'll drive across into Montana to pick up the trailer with my household goods and drive across the border...

Omigosh, you guys are a mess! :P Thanks for the grats on my COPR. Amikety, that was an awesome analogy about the fireworks and sparkling, something to remember through the emotions of separating. CIC has had a week to recover from the Canada Day holiday, so here's hoping that some of you...

Somewhere, I read that the COPR came by courier, but it came via snail mail in an envelope made with recycled paper... I shrieked when I saw it in my mailbox in the kiosk! We're celebrating our last 4th of July here in the States today at ex's with the extended family, step-families, the whole...

Sorry, left off info! Nexus, the group that submitted apps in December is seeing activity now. I feel your pain, the last month before we saw the PPR was excruciating!

Nexus, the group who submitted their apps seems to be up for PPR/COPR right now, and they somewhat go in order, so I would think that you're a bit early. Brightredscream, I also saw the ECAS switch to "address: Edmonton, Canada". Given the mail delay between Canada and the US, I think I was...

Thanks, everyone! Hoping the best for you, as it really does seem that things are moving along quite nicely for most of us. We need to give them a swift kick for Ivan!

Mine never did say "In process", just went from "Application received" to "Decision made". Then, a few days later, it showed my address as Edmonton and my mailing address, my actual mailing address in Texas. There's really no consistency, just an indication that some sort of something is...
