I know right! If they had done some surveys after the lawsuits, by now they will know what the majority of people want and how they will implement it. of course not to benefit everyone but they will have a better idea.

    Fair deal.

That’s it, they have to find a way to reduce the amount. That’s the goal. It’s fair too.

Hmm, the thread is not for discussing how the process will be changed and then you are having suggestions? Cool stuff. We don’t know what the demand will be when and if requirements change. There is no survey done yet to realize what the numbers will be. The previous system and existing...

Well explained but This will bring us back to where we are now I think. So many immigrants qualify that’s why there were 100k interests. The first solution is to streamline the requirements so that less people qualify. Of course it doesn’t have to be 10 years, it can be 5 minimum...

I mean working in Canada for a minimum 10 years, income tax is the proof and of course with no welfare, government assistance.

How do we get our voices heard somehow by the minister. Who do I send an email to or mail a letter to. Or sign a petition. Suggested criteria: 1. Must be a citizen 2. Provide income tax of 10 years with no welfare. 3. parents sponsorship only

I don’t think he wants to see it cancelled totally. We are all inputting our opinions as to the strategies IRCC might use to fix this broken system. It’s not working obviously.

Hopefully IRCC gets it right this time. Time in Canada and time worked in Canada is the way to go. If they make it 10 years requirement, I’m sure that 100,000 people will be less than half.

Didn’t mention LICO. Higher requirements threshold can be filtering with years of income tax payment, citizenship and all that was already mentioned.

it’s a good idea but I don’t think this is the problem IRCC is facing now for this program. They accepted 27,000 application and there were 100,000 who tried to applied. That’s a massive gap! A higher requirement threshold that is fair is the way to go this time!

They should sue their home country for not allowing dual citizenship.

I think citizenship matters if they really want those numbers of interest to go down and fair process. That’s the goal!

    PGP 2020

This is fair enough. Whatever works to bring down that 100,000 people! Something, anything has to work to fix the Current broken system

    very fair
  17. K

    PGP 2020

absolutely! It can’t be unlimited. That’s why they need to add more requirements. If for example I sponsored my parents last year, meet the LICO and expert in typing, how will it be fair to now sponsor my grandparents this year just because? I think that spot should be left for those that want...

Even with the fees, we will end up in the same process that isn’t working right Now. People are willing to gamble with their money but when you don’t meet the requirements at all, you won’t attempt to apply. 100,000 people that attempted to apply last year must have met the income requirements...

I think Canada can do whatever they can to raise the threshold of requirements. IRCC doesn’t have to force people to renounce their citizenship. It’s simply their choice. It’s also a choice to sponsor ones parents.

“Earlier this year, the government accepted 27,000 submissions for sponsoring parents or grandparents and confirmed that more than 100,000 people had attempted to access an online form to express interest” this is a quote from CBC news. Just wondering how they will solve this problem looking at...
