Wow, now I understand your dilemma. Considering the circumstances, finding out about the test 11 days before is a moot point if your wife cannot read or write English or French. It's not a question of her not being prepared. I'm not sure she meets the basic language requirements for citizenship.

I would advise your wife to just go for it. I took the test last month and only began studying seriously a week before. I read the book a few times and took lots of free online tests. I scored 100%. I wouldn't delay taking the exam, if she fails they will reschedule another test for her, I...

Congratulations! I was also at the oath today and my timeline is identical to yours. It's a great feeling and I'm glad the process is finally done. It took 21 months from start to finish which is right on target according to the timeline CIC quoted back in Jan 2012. Best of luck to all of you...

I'm in Calgary and wrote my test on Sept 17th, my oath is on October 10th. At the test they indicated the wait would be 1-3 months until the oath. Things are finally moving in Calgary after delays due to the flooding in June, so I think they are pushing things through quite quickly at the moment.

Finally the end is near! I just received my notice to take the oath on October 10th (I wrote the test on Sept 17th.) I'm grateful that the test/oath are happening quite quickly. My timeline is 21 months from application to oath.
