Cem is not also replying for our request to withdraw our passports if they cannot come up with a decision yet. How come? They lost our passports? Huhuhu...very frustrating.

Hi! Yes..18mos! After a year of follow up CEM said our file is under review then they asked for additional documents. Our lawyer submitted docs last Oct 2013 but until now no news regarding our app. I want to get our passports back...it has been soooooo long. :( missed a lot of family trips...

Can we ask CEM to return our passports if they are not coming up with a decision yet? It has been 18mos and my family wants to take a vacation in April. Is it legal for them to hold passports for more than a year?

Hi! Yes we did that already. My husband has been visiting the Mp's office quite often but to no avail, the only thing the staff can say is our file is on cue :) We are asked to follow up every four weeks :o

P.S. don't rely too much on the 14 mos. processing time...not applicable to all.

I am back in this forum due to my frustrations! :o We are on the same boat and farther from where you stand. I'm a Feb 2012 applicant..that is more than 24mos application, 21 months since file transfer and 19mos from ppr(CEM got my passport July 2012 and it means I am held in my own country...
