PR status and travel to Canada

I think you barely missed the residency obligation requirement. Since you have unexpired PR card, you are good to goto Canada. But at the border, you may be asked questions about not meeting the residency obligation. If you can convince them with your answer, I think you should be good. But you...

PR status and travel to Canada

My PR card expired almost two years back. I doubt I would be allowed a prtd as I don't have a very strong reason. I don't see a reason to keep the PR at this point, as it will cause problem anytime I want to visit Canada. Even if they allow me in the country, I will not be able to leave the...

I searched through the forum. And it seems that renouncing PR should not have any negative impact on the future new PR application. Has anyone done this?

PR status and travel to Canada

So just applying for renouncement is not enough to get a eTA! I have to wait for the approval on the renouncement. That will add some delay to get the eTA I suppose. For the minor kid, my question is can he retain the PR status, and still travel with a eTA for now?

PR status and travel to Canada

Thank you. I understand. So, the only option would be to renounce if I want to travel. Can I travel while the renouncement application is underway. I have a child who is also in my situation. He is not yet 18 years old, but I want him to take a decision on where he should live when he turns 18...

Does someone still need to have the 67 points to apply for the PR if going through the PNP route? Or, is 67 points requirement is only for the FSWP router? I am referring to the 67 points from...

Re-applying for PR as the residency obligation is not met

Can you please provide some details? What I heard is, the employers might have to go through a LMIA process, and many of them do not want to do that.

Re-applying for PR as the residency obligation is not met

I do not meet the residency obligation. I understand that I may have to apply for the PR all over again. Does getting an offer from a Canadian employer help? Is it even possible to get an offer from Canadian employer while I am not in Canada?

Which route did you take? I am also in a similar situation, and want to evaluate my options. I have a few questions, and would appreciate if somebody can help me with those. 1) In Toronto airport's automated gates, what all things have to be declared? 2) During the appeal process (in case I...

Selling vs Renting US home before moving to Canada

Xact same situation here. Selling the home before moving will be very messy for me (as I have to find some temporary accommodation). However, it will be a tax-free event for me as $500K will non-taxable under US law. But if I sell it after moving to Canada, then I am not sure what will be...
