Yes, I have used both my IEC visas. Not short on cash luckily and have no real ties, or for that matter, worked in Germany for the last 18 years :), so no going back there :). Ok will just apply for the open work permit and see what happens. Thanks

Well if they don't issue confirmation how can I find out if I actually am allowed to stay (as tourist from a visa waived country) and do not have to leave the country for re-entry. It's not exactly a given :).
