Your communications will all be via email and, when you get to oath, as stated above you have an option to get an e-cert, or, you can also update them with a new address. If you're still out of the country when you get to oath, note that getting a physical certificate mailed to you is complicated.

I got excited reading about the e-certificate thing! but yes, its only by invitation and pilot project for pre Jan 2023 applicants. We also thought about requesting an in person, so certificate would be issued on the spot, but that also seems like it opens up complications and unknown delays.

Jun 2021 Applicant, online. FINALLY got Oath scheduled for mid march. This will be about a year after taking (and passing) test online in March 2022. Been sitting with no activity or updates since then.

Yeah I dunno. They insisted that I had to be in person the first time I applied. It’s also seemed odd to me, but that’s why I was looking for more info.

The oath letter states it and they reiterated it during my in person ceremony. This won’t matter for virtual oath as by the time you get your certificate the system has processed your info.

You do get certificate during the ceremony if you are doing in person.
