So you never got it extended? I don't think it will be another 2 months of waiting. They just wanna make it sure when they send you COPR (after your PPR) you medical status should be valid for a little while.

Check GC Key, if its showing "you do not need a medical exam" that means they have extended. I read it somewhere. This has to be the status after "you passed the medical exam".

I dont think so you need work permit or work visa to enter into Canada. As Sarab26 suggested, the mail you got for PPR, reply them that you are in India and they will change the VO. Once you submit your PP and get you PR Visa, you will be good to land back. Btw Congratulations!

Yes it is normal. There are two receipts the first pink one, they give it to you (that's for the package going to Ottawa and would have activated the same day). For the 2nd envelope you won't have receipt (unless you noted the tracking number on a different paper). When it will be coming back...

I dont have detailed idea about the background check but generally they will check if you are not a defaulter. CIC can request you for your employment verification letters for past jobs. At that time they will also ask about updated Schedule A, if you think you forgot to mention any of the jobs...

No need to worry about as CIC (if going to ask) will only inquire about Job letter and Proof of funds. They wont ask for the Notice of Assessment (which basically gives an idea of how much you earned last year).
