Unable to update Mailing Address online

I would still call the Call Centre to make sure your address was updated in their system. It has happened before that applicants updated their address online but somehow CIC did not have the new address and sent out the notifications to the old address. By the way, even if you have mail...

Does any one know the time line of Edmonton

I have collected the timelines using the posted information on another immigration forum. Unfortunately I am not able to keep track of all the posts from two forums. I am not sure if it is ok to post a link to the other forum but I can send it to you in a PM. If you post you timeline there and...

There will be a citizenship ceremony on December 12th. They are probably preparing the invitation letters right now. Ours were printed exactly 14 days before the ceremony. Check you mailbox and ecas for you invitation. I hope a couple of you will receive it the next few days. :) Good luck!

    Citizenship test results, Edmonton Office

We were told the same thing. We should get the oath invitation within 2-3 months, otherwise something went wrong with our application (eg. failed test, questions about residency requirements). Fortunately we received the oath invitation 2 months after our test and the oath was scheduled less...

    Citizenship test results, Edmonton Office

It might be a little risky to apply in Toronto if you will be living in Edmonton for 2 years. The officer might question your residency at the interview before your test since you will have a job here in Edmonton. If I were you I would apply from Edmonton to be on the safe side. You can also...

My first schedule was on 7/2/2013, but i missed as i didnt rcvd the letter.

It can take several months or even more than a year for CIC to reschedule the test. Consider yourself lucky if you do not get an RQ that would lengthen the process a lot. CIC has been very sensitive about people missing the test or oath dates lately. Someone from my local office missed the test...

AND I AM DONE WITH CIC

This is not true. Yes, US trips CAN be a redflag resulting in an RQ. But having several trips to the US does not mean the applicant will get an RQ for sure. We have received the citizenship recently and even though my spouse had several trips to the US we did not receive an RQ. Not to mention...

    CIC office in Edmonton-Alberta

Yes, the timeline sheet is still up to date, but unfortunately some applicants stop updating their timeline. I have not heard anything for a while from Tomcat85. Winter2012 has received an RQ, so he/she can expect a long delay in his/her case. Wonderboy has been inactive for about 1.5 months...

leaving Canada while application is in process..............proper things to do

The current government is trying to make the processing as long as possible for people who are living abroad. Even if you qualify, your case can still take several years to process. If you consider Canada your home, than you have to make sure you will maintain you PR status, otherwise you will...

Same day citizenship test and oath ceremony in Calgary

Edmonton has been very slow lately. It took us exactly 22 months to receive the citizenship. Edmonton did not have a citizenship judge for almost a year and I think they have quite a big backlog now. You can find a few timelines from Edmonton here.

1 day short of physical presence

I might be wrong, but I think I have read somewhere that CIC won't calculate the 1 additional day on leap years, but their online calculator does ...
