Good afternoon, Yesterday my wife received her PR Card in the mail. Thank you to everyone for their support these past 22 months. I especially wish to highlight the faithful work that Screech has done to keep the spreadsheet current. Good luck to the remaining 2012ers. Keep the faith!

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

My wife landed at CIC Ottawa today. There were 5 people in line in front of us. Started serving clients at 9:10. We were done by 9:50. Standard questions were asked. A note of caution, one client did not understand the question posed by the agent (Have you ever been denied entry into...

Thanks Jolly1. It has definitely been a long wait. Our landing appointment is on Tuesday at 200 Catherine Street so will let folks know how it goes. Thanks for the heads up on SIN - we will have to go to Service Canada office elsewhere in the city (likely south end) to request permanent SIN.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

My wife has her landing appointment July 29 at CIC Ottawa. She received DM on July 10. I suspect this quick turnaround is due to the fact that her medicals will expire this fall (completed Oct. 2012); study permit expires mid-Aug; and we involved our MP about 1 month ago.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2013

We received Decision Made yesterday (after filing our application nearly 20 months ago and nearly 9 months since AIP). We are very happy. It may have been a coincidence, or not, but once we got our MP engaged on our file, we received DM within 2 weeks. Something to consider for those whose...

For all those awaiting PR cards: I spoke to CIC agent yesterday on another matter and was advised that supposedly the current delays in issuing PR cards (now up to 94 days) will be shortened to approx. 30 day processing time given that earlier computer glitch has been rectified.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

So 8 months less a day since AIP and we get an email from CIC requesting 2 documents: one that was included in original package 19 months ago and one that was received by them 5 weeks ago (and modified in ECAS). So I called CIC and they said re-send docs and include covering letter that...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

thanks folks-g. I've been racking my brain for months now trying to figure out what the problem is. There are no red flags. All documents and fees paid up front. We have left Canada on several occasions during the process but never denied entry. Wife has study permit and work permit so...

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Thanks Annabell. Will keep you posted. This process can be very inhumane, especially when someone risks re-entry to attend funeral of family members.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

Sorry Annabell to hear of your predicament. Our timeline is very similar to yours (just two weeks later). The past two times I called CIC (within the last 3 months) they said they are awaiting the background check. I fear that our delay is similar to yours.

    INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012

------------ In mid-June it will be 8 months since receiving AIP in Oct 2013 (appl filed Nov 2012). If no DM by 8 month anniversary, we will be engaging our MP. Process has been very frustrating (nearly 17 months and counting). I wonder, with the proposed Bill C-24 before Parliament and its...
