    Outland staying in Canada

As a word of advice, don't complicate matters by having your husband come to Canada early. It would mean he would have to contact immigration about the change of address (which really confuses them!) and he may also have to apply for a visa if he intends to stay for longer than three months...

    Non Accompanying Dependents Question

When you are ready to sponsor your partner's children, you have to complete applications for each child as you would anyone you sponsor. So this would mean paying full fees, getting passport photos, paying for medicals and anything else.

Option C Printout for Sponsorship of 3-yr old daughter

You can indeed sponsor a dependant without an option C printout. I was unable to provide one, but wrote clearly why I could not and we were approved. When sposoring a spouse/common law partner/conjugal partner or dependant child, you do not have to show proof you can financially support them...

    Question about landing.

It looks as though London is going to send my partner and our daughters COPR papers together to him in the UK (our daughter is here in Canada with me). My partner will land as normal at a Canadian airport but what should we do about our daughter? Does she have to 'land' at a Candian port of...

    Question Re: London VO

Hi guys, Okay, I just wanted to update you all on what's happening here. My partner in the UK emailed London on the email address provided by hsbalouch (thanks for that!) this morning and he checked his email this evening and they had responded. They apologised for the error on their part and...

    Question Re: London VO

Thanks ddobro2, but I wasn't born to Canadian parents. :o) I'm going to be emailing London today to see what, if anything, is going on with our file. You know, if we didn't dot an 'i' or cross a 't' they'd soon flirt papers back to us, but when it comes to their cock-ups, we're now stuck and...

    Question Re: London VO

Hi Mandy, No, myself, my parents and my brother were all permanent residents. My parents and brother decided to go for their citizenship (I didn't bother, as I was at college in the UK). So it's only me who is still a permanent resident. We were all born in the UK.

    Question Re: London VO

ddobro2: Thank you for your reply. My daughter was born in the UK and none of us are Canadian citizens, however, my parents (her grandparents) are, but I'm sure this has no bearing on our daughter. Pinklady: Thank you for your reply. I think my partner tried that number, but it just rings and...

    Question Re: London VO

When my partner received his COPR papers last week, there was also a letter informing us that our daughter had been removed from the application, as it appeared she had claim to Canadian citizenship. We were to notify them ASAP if this were not the case. On closer inspection of the COPR...

Help - General questions for landing in Canada

I just wanted to clearify for ourselves here...What if you're landing with no items to follow? Like, everything you're bringing with you is what you have in your suitcase? I ask because this will most likely be my partner. I've been setting up home here and when he comes, all he'll need to...

    Marital status: common-law or single??

Have you lived together for at least 12 months? If yes, then you are common law.

    Just a quick question...

On section 14 where it asks if any dependants will be accompanying him, there are no names, which is right because our daughter is here with me. But in the same section, just below it states 'have you any dependants other than those listed above' and they have put No. He does have a dependant...

    Canada vs. UK??

I was born in England and my family and I emigrated to Canada when I was 12. I grew up here and went to school here. Once I met my partner I lived in England for a couple of years and I'm now back in Canada with our daughter waiting for my partner to join us. Canada, for me and my family, is...

    Just a quick question...

So my partner received his COPR yesterday (yay!) There was a question about our daughter and they needed to know ASAP. He went to the UK website and completed a webform for the additional information. Because of the update, some info on his COPR form also has to be changed, which he mentioned...
