Compensation (salary and benefits) makes up 75 per cent of our core operating costs, and if we are unable to reduce expenses to the needed level through these measures, we will have to explore job losses. It is a sad reality at Quebec, i guess. that is also the very reason why i would like to...

hi, which program are you applying to? In my case, I have to have a contact professor prior to lodging an application to McGill. IN my program, apparently, they will usually reject all applicants without a contact professor beforehand. The prof will have to confirm any funding to support the...

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi ! Based on most people's experience, processing time for study permit takes about 3 weeks to 2 months. Some takes even longer, depending on situation (medicals, further docs needed etc). In my case, it took about 4 weeks (not considering the time I waited for the clinic to send my results...

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

hi, Did you apply for your CSQ within Canada? Anyway, you are allowed to apply for a study permit while waiting for your immigrant visa. Your pending PR application doesn't have any effect on your study permit application as long as you have proofs to support it. There are: 1) enough funds for...

I got this message today from McGill: "your application is being considered by the Graduate Training Committee" I was told that results (both accepted and rejections) will be released shortly. By "shortly", I am assuming that's about within a month.

To All Who Made Medical Examination to Nationwide Health System Inc.

they are very slow... mine took about about 4 weeks, contrary to their promise of 2-3 weeks. I informed the embassy about this as I have told that I was not the only one who experienced such delay. Anyway, if you get the chance, please avoid them and go to Manila (st lukes etc) instead.

hi, the prof. actually have some offer (scholarships, TA/RA etc), but I prefer an external fellowship. We just made tons of email exchanges and a very casual skype conversation. oh by the way, I still got no results from the admissions office and my minerva status is still on "ready for...

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

hi there! Have you already applied for admission to school? because as I read it, you already shelled out about 100k without even having your LOA or even started to apply for your visa. You don't really need to pay that much for assistance. This is the very reason the Canadian Govt Immigration...

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

hello po! while it is ok to register in advance, it is not really necessary for study permit application. You just need to show the VO's that you have enough support for one year (about 10k CAD). This can be done by showing them letter of supports, scholarships, own account. hope it helps! :)

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Hi! two main things to prepare before applying for a study permit: Letter of acceptance from a school, and enough money to fund your education. First, you need to get admission from your chosen school/institute/university in Canada. I suggest that you apply for studies that is relevant to your...

Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

hi, I do not think your unemployment of only several months will affect your chances of getting a study permit. Aside from the letter of support and LOA, I think you can just back your application up with a good study plan. It should be alright :) Good luck!

BAD NEWS! NOVA SCOTIA INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PNP CLOSING ON MARCH 31 2013.

Indeed a very bad news, most specially to those who are already in Nova Scotia and have not wrapped up their studies yet. I guess the way to go for most of the applicants is thru CEC. Maybe the Canadian Govt is thinning out the process, province by province. Hoping that the other provinces will...
