    Language courses in Vancouver

That's it, it is exactly where they have huge waitlists :D Unfortunately is seems that all the LINC programs in Vancouver are booked (I am not surprised given the overpopulated area). I asked a couple of times to that one and Mosaic as well. You need to wait.

    Language courses in Vancouver

I finally received my COPR and it's time for plans! My common law partner and I would like to improve our English skills as we will land in Vancouver, BC. I have seen that you can find a lot of tax-payer founded language courses in there, but they usually have long wait lists. The fact is, I...

    Common-law partner, application amendment

This is good advice! I have just received a communication asking for other documents (police certificate, ...). I am just puzzled about this sentence: What does it mean that notarised documents are not accepted? Does it mean that I can translate them myself without authentication from the...

    Common-law partner, application amendment

Dear fellow applicants, I sent my application in January 2014 and I am still waiting for an answer. In the meantime, my marital status has changed and I can add my partner as Common-law. I wrote to my national Canadian embassy and they replied that "You must advise the processing office in...

New CEC - Jan 2013 Applications

Hello guys, I applied in Jan 2013 and they received my application on February 3rd, 2013. No news since then. Is it possible in your opinion? I applied for CEC after I had worked in Quebec for two years, then left the country as I did not want to reside in Quebec anymore. Is there anything I can...

Adding on Common-law partner after starting my application.

Any advice on this? I am about to do the same but I don't know where to start. Does my common-law partner need up-front medical exams? What do I have to amend from my previous application?

Eligible for CEC but unemployed - questions.

A follow up question: today (almost 10 months after my application) I received a call from +1 646-205-0801. As I wrote at the time, I then moved to my natal country and I was spending happily my Sunday when the above number called and then hang up. It was a registered voice who asked me to press...

    Incorporate or self-employ?

Hello Canada Visa Forum, I am waiting for my PR and moved back to my country waiting for it, saving some money. While here, I found a job opportunity (Software collaboration) and they asked me how they can pay me. I was thinking of freelancing and I was wondering what would be the best option to...

Wo wo wo wo...marriage?!!?!? :o :o :o Ok...I am joking...thanks this is a good summary of what has been told me so far. After this discussion I still think that the best option for me is to go back to my country and wait...and work there for the time necessary to get the permanent residence...

Eligible for CEC but unemployed - questions.

In my case, I left (and I had to quit), because they could not find/didn't want to find a way to change my work permit and allow me to work from BC. The client I was working for was more than happy (but he is from the US) to let me work remotely, but with my work permit I couldn't. Why did I...

Eligible for CEC but unemployed - questions.

Applying for the insurance would be great, but still a lot of hassle and not ethically correct in my opinion. On the other hand if I found a job right now, an LMO + WP would take three months, and I really don't think any employer would go through this unless you are very very very talented...
