I received my citizenship certificate on 15th Dec and noticed that my name was misspelled. After talking to CIC they mentioned that i should send the original certificate with letter mentioning what was wrong and they will fix the certificate. Has anyone had to do the same ? If yes what was the...

I called CIC, they didn't have anything on the notice.

I think that reason will qualify for requesting reschedule. Call CIC and talk with them , but ultimately you will need to send them a letter asking them to reschedule.

I also noticed that my oath is on 15th Dec but when i try to search for ceremonies under http://www.cic.gc.ca/citcer/search-recherche-eng.aspx i dont see 15th listed, maybe mine isnt public ? ie i can invite friends and family ?

For Oath ceremony, can i invite friends and family ? Mine is at 8:15 am can they all come with me the same time? Does anyone know what exactly happens on the oath day ?

I have a legal name change document for canada, plan to use that along with the citizenship certificate for applying passport.

Only thing i worry is the legal name. My name on passport and Legal name in Canada are different. I had put all this info in the application but the letters still keep coming in my passport name. I might have to deal with that based on what they write on the citizenship certificate.

I am going to prepare Passport application and try completing the process after Oath. I already booked that day off might as well make use of it.

Test Date 17th Sep Oath Date 15th Dec

Just got a letter for Oath... It's on 15th December. What is the process after Oath? Guess I get a Citizenship certificate and then I have to apply for Canadian Passport? I have to give up my Indian citizenship and apply for PIO as well....

Did anyone who took test in September get Oath date yet? I see someone with October already got Oath for December 5th... I cleared my test on 17th September.. Still no Oath letter.. Is there some place I can follow up? Thanks.

After the test and interview does the interviewer give any document about the expected Oath date or just have to wait for letter in the post ? Thanks.

Done with my Test this morning. Got 19/20 correct, took 5 mins to finish Interview was quick, the lady interviewer was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Just generic questions. Where i work, do i have family in canada, do i have kids, have i ever been convicted and have i ever had...

Any good practice sites for these tests ? I have been using http://www.yourlibrary.ca/citizenship/

Thanks canucksrig ....What do they ask in the interview after the Test ? I am planning to take my passports, landing paper, PR Card and other certificates that i submitted with the citizenship application. will they ask for anything else ? Also all of these docs have to be original , right ?

I have my test and Interview on 17th Sep 2014....does that leave enough time for them to make decision for the Sep 26th oath
