    Ottawa Applications

My Citizenship Certificate from the Ottawa office finally arrived in the mail today! Did my oath back on November 15th, 2021, and the application was marked as completed on February 25th. I sent in the citizenship application in January 2020, so it took more than 2 years to process the...

    Ottawa Applications

Seems like I'm the same boat the others that are waiting for their certificate from the Ottawa office. My Oath was the 15th of November, no signs of life since then. My ECAS is still saying "In Progress" for the ceremony step. Tried e-mailing them at the "Ottawa CIT Scheduling / Planification...

    June 2015 - Outland applications

End of a chapter: I landed last weekend! I was first going to do it at the CIC office in Ottawa, since there are walk-in hours every other Tuesday and they're a few minutes from my office. But apparently they have a bad grip on the rules for outland applications. First they asked for extra...

    June 2015 - Outland applications

@cillyx5: ~2 weeks for me - It was a sign-for-receipt letter from Vienna to Ottawa.

    VIENNA OFFICE

My CoPR has arrived! Sent to Mississauga on June 8th, received COPR on November 11th. That's 156 days total processing, 123 of which in Vienna. Very quick and efficient, and very unexpected that all was done before the end of the year.

My CoPR has arrived! Sent to Mississauga on June 8th, received COPR on November 11th. That's 156 days total processing, way shorter than expected!

    June 2015 - Outland applications

Thanks for the warning. For this application I never had a European address, so I assume it'll arrive in Canada. It's weird they didn't send it to your "current mailing address" as specified in form IMM0008, section "Contact information", question 1. And of course: congratulations!

@Arjen1980: if you can do without working for 6-12 months, I'd go for outland. Processing times for straightforward cases are pretty fast, even in Vienna. But there's always the risk it's going to take longer. You can stay in Canada for 6 months as a visitor, but if you apply for an extension...

    VIENNA OFFICE

Nope. No e-mail, and ECAS doesn't have the extra line. It just says "Decision made" under the status. I'm one of those lucky ones who's already living and working in Canada with their family, so the wait hasn't been too hard on me. I arrived in December 2012 as a visitor, then in May 2013 I...

Nice, congrats LLAngel! I'm from an visa-exempt country, so I didn't have to send in my passport. Seems like they are doing everything in batches.

    June 2015 - Outland applications

I just saw my status has changed to Decision Made in ECAS! Considering the fact that they haven't asked for more docs, and we have a fairly straightforward case in my opinion, I'm assuming it is good news. :D

My application changed to Decision Made today too! I heard several people from London also say they transitioned to DM today. PM1983, since our applications did every stage at the same time, I'm guessing it's legit. :D

    VIENNA OFFICE

I forgot my passport when I did the medical and used my driver's license instead. As such the results probably weren't picked up automatically by the initial importing of the application. I don't think we're done yet, I'm afraid. I expect it'll take somewhere around 6-9 months total in Vienna...

    VIENNA OFFICE

A small sign of life on my application yesterday. Up to then my ECAS said "We've received your application ..." and "We started processing ...", but not "Medical results have been received". I had e-mailed Vienna a couple of weeks ago, and they confirmed they received them, so I wasn't too...

    VIENNA OFFICE

They recently changed the moment at which they say "In Process" & "We started processing at xxxxx". Before it would be close to the end when they actually open and start processing the application. Now they do it when they receive the package. Most people who sent in their application after...

    VIENNA OFFICE

If it's "only" been 6 months in Vienna, it is not long enough yet to worry. I know, the wait is long and annoying, and it can be very hard to be patient. But that's the only thing we can do: wait and take our minds off of it. I'm sure your case will show some activity soon! I also wouldn't...

@Julia123 You can usually get one via your embassy or consulate. It might take longer, be more expensive, etc.

So I have sent my outland Application and now what ?

Yes, the often send an acknowledgement to the sponsor. Either by e-mail, if the sponsor provided them with an e-mail address, or by normal mail. It usually takes about a month after receiving your application before they send it.

@Ilija I asked Vienna whether they received my medical information earlier this week. They answered (positively) within 2 days. Seems they're still alive and kicking.
