Hi annabruce, I actually called CIC today regarding that matter. The agent told me EI and maternity leave is not considered as welfare. So we are good to claim it. You can call them yourself to make sure. Hope it helps.

hey guys, Received our AIP letters today, both for me and hubby with my OWP dated Nov. 15th. Does anyone know, getting EI or maternity leave would affect our PR app for 2nd stage? and how difficult will it be to find a job when you're pregnant? Thanks

Thanks everyone! My ecas just changed today 3am AB time. AIP it is! :) It didnt say they received additional docs which we sent with OWP last July, but call center agents said we got OWP too. Hang in there everyone, think positive! Goodluck! ...Now waiting for 2nd stage. Hope it goes quick. :)

Hi, as far as I know CIC is NOT accepting new applications since Nov 5th, and they might do it up to 24 months. So I was wondering how would my mother be qualified as live-in nanny without taking the caregiver course for 7 months? Thanks

Hi, TWUCHU was right in saying that they were using the date November 23rd even though the timeline says 10-11 months. Thats what the agent told me today. That I should also consider Nov 23rd. I am afraid that they will change the processing timeline tomorrow to 11-12 months.

HI charmainefrances, regarding your Alberta healthcard, I know you can extend it for 3 more months,just tell them you are working on the extension. Thats what I did and they extended it. Hope that helps.
