    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

Me too. I had the test on September 16th and my oath is on January 26th. ECAS still doesn't show anything. It was sent by good ol' snail mail.

    Minor Citizenship Refused!

Maybe you're volunteering for a noble cause, but be upfront with both parties. Tell people here that you're asking for someone else, and tell your clients that you don't know the answer, but you'll try to find one. And certainly never lash out at volunteers here trying to help each other...

Oath Timeline after test at Vancouver Office :)

My test was on Sep 16th (more than 3 months now), but I got my DM the week after. Even though they said we need to wait for 3-5 months, it may take longer. I noticed they cancelled a great deal of their November/December ceremonies and rescheduled to December/January. Since you don't even have...

Petitioning New Government to bring back 3 year Residency Requirement etc

They're not going to go back to the 3/4 rule, but Justin Trudeau has mandated the minister of immigration to bring back the pre-PR time. Read this: http://pm.gc.ca/eng/minister-immigration-refugees-and-citizenship-mandate-letter

    Vancouver Oath Timeline after Test/Interview

How do you receive your oath invitation in Vancouver? Email? Normal mail? ECAS update? Honestly, I don't trust Canada Post to deliver my mail in time or at all!

Tracking June 2015 Citizenship Application - Please Share your Timeline

Went in process yesterday, 7 days after AOR. Vancouver is on fire!

    may 2015 applicants for citizenship

The important question is that will your application ever be returned after you receive the AOR? I believe I haven't seen any application returned after AOR. Maybe just extra paperwork is required, but you'll be considered in the old residency rule. Am I right?

How Are Abroad Trip Dates Calculated in RQ?

Thanks a lot for your meticulous and insightful answer.

    Effective date of Bill C24

@ Dpenabill: You seem to know a lot about the nitty-gritties of the law. I posted a separate question regarding that situation. Do you mind having a look and letting us know of your opinion? Thanks...

    Effective date of Bill C24

They'll check the date you send the application, and your signature cannot be post-dated. I'd wait until I'm eligible and send my application then. Any problem like that, and your application can take a lot longer than it would by waiting for one year and applying through the new rules. I can...

How Are Abroad Trip Dates Calculated in RQ?

Background: As we're very close to Bill C-24 implementation date and people (like myself) will give the eligibility date less buffer time, it becomes more important to calculate the trip dates correctly. I have my border crossings from CBSA and there are a couple of discrepancies; I crossed the...

    Effective date of Bill C24

Please take that piece of information with a huge amount of salt. Call centre folks are notorious for giving out false information when they can just say they don't know.

    Effective date of Bill C24

Thanks Dpenabill Esq. for the reply. The main reason I'm giving it a week-long buffer is I intentionally crossed the border to the US just after midnight twice, so I can become eligible earlier. Even though the border agency has the right dates (got the dates by an FOI), the stupid stamps on my...

    Effective date of Bill C24

I know the call centre is not very reliable, but I called them regarding my situation today and the guy told me the new law is coming into force on June 19th, and kept asking me to "monitor the situation". I became eligible today, but I'm going to give it another week as I had a few trips...

    Effective date of Bill C24

What proposed law are you talking about? Is there really an act to allow sharing of information required by bill C-24? Do you have a link to the tabled act? If there's such a thing, we'll be far away from new residency requirements coming into force!

    Effective date of Bill C24

Summer is Late June to Late September.

    Effective date of Bill C24

How did they hear about it when it hasn't been officially announced? Did the lawyer have a lawyer-client relationship with you, or is it merely hearsay?

Bill C-24 dilemma: Applying right after reaching basic residency

Great answer. As for the additional consideration, the time difference for eligibility of pre-PR residents can go up to two years (from 2 years after PR to 4 years). The applications may not be as expedited in 2 years either; CIC just needs to show, pre-election, that they've reduced the...

Guess it's not even worth trying seeing how you guys immediately dismiss the idea. Cheers

Bill C-24 dilemma: Applying right after reaching basic residency

The reason I'm even considering this is CIC can switch to 4/6 year law between my basic and physical dates, and cause a 2-year delay (by flushing my pre-PR time down the toilet). So, if the judge, for example, adds 6 months to the process, I'd be better off going down that path and not risking...
