    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

I just got an invite to do my oath virtually! It will be next week Wednesday, July 7. Does anyone know if you can invite friends/family to view the virtual oath? There weren’t really any details about it on my notice.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

So under status it says Decision Made, but when I click on the link it only gives me detailed dates up to and including my citizenship test. If I had to guess, it probably switched to the new status around May 20.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

So on the new system, I see that it says “in progress” and all sections are labeled “complete” (which switched May 20) except for the oath. However, when I log into the old system, it says “decision made.” So I guess my status has changed? I’m assuming the old system probably switched my status...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Oh hey congrats! I'm also in Edmonton, passed my test February 10...and it still just says "in process." I'm going nuts. I'm glad to hear it's moving for some people, though!

Any virtual oath in Edmonton office recently?

Yup, same here. Test Feb 10, still says in process.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Same here. Application delivered July 11, passed my test on Feb 10 in Edmonton. They told me it'd be 2-4 months to verify my border crossings for some reason, so I don't know if my application is held up or on track with everyone else. :-/ Does yours say "In Process" or "Decision Made" in ECAS...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

I was February 10, also still no news. They told me it would take 2-4 months to verify land crossings, and then the pandemic happened...so I have no idea where it is in the process now.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Good point - she told me that border agents don't always put stamps in the passport book, which is why they had to verify. I'm from the US, and I never do land crossings since the border is like 8 hours from me, but it may still be suspicious. Especially since my presence calculator had 1700+...

Well yeah, but I’m asking because I’m curious if this is standard procedure for everyone or not.

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

Took my citizenship test yesterday -- I read the guide they sent me twice, very thoroughly, and memorized some key facts. Was done literally under 2 minutes and got 20/20. After meeting with the immigration officer, she said that they had to send my file to CBSA to verify my border crossings...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

I checked on Friday morning and it was still "application received," but I checked this morning and it now says "in process"! I'm not sure if they were doing work over the weekend, or if it happened late Friday night, but I'm now in process in ECAS! Please update. :) Edit: the website is...

    July 2019 - Citizenship Applicants

I also can't help but wonder how many people sign up for this message board and are excited at first, but then forget about it or don't keep up with it that often. If you look at some of the older months in the spreadsheet, like April, they show 85% receiving their AOR. I'm pretty sure the extra...

    Got my AOR tonight!!

AOR, is it sent on a specifc time each day?

I've been wondering this as well. Maybe if we have a few people respond with what times their emails were sent, we can determine if they were done by hand or automatically sent out.

    March 2012 Applications

Haha! I'm actually American. Living here, I picked up saying "holidays" instead of "vacation," and "university" instead of "college." Oh, and of course, "eh." ;D

    March 2012 Applications

Oh yeah! I forgot to mention, I landed today!! My husband and I went on holidays to Mexico, arrived back a few hours ago, where I landed -- at the Edmonton International Airport. I just handed over my CoPR, she had me sign several areas, write down my address (where they'll send the PR card in...

    March 2012 Applications

Hi Alvin -- that is the PPR. If you're not from a visa-exempt country, the only way to do it is to send in the entire passport. You can try to expedite it (send it overnight for a higher fee). I got my PPR on Nov. 19, sent it in on Nov. 20, and then got everything returned to me (yes, they...

    March 2012 Applications

Got CoPR today -- will be landing once I return from holidays at the end of December. Pongpong was right -- received the CoPR 2 days after CIC changed my file to "decision made." Good luck to everyone!
