You can enter Canada before your PR expires and apply for PR card, which normally walid for 5 years, then you can come back leaving your wife and child there , they will receive your card as well as their, then they can post you the card which you can use for your next entry to Canada.......

We got Australian PR but still preffer to go to Canada... like candian weather.. and most of all my parents are US sitizen and all family lives US and Canada but not a single family member is here in Australia...so it is best for us to move to canada.... Family reunion... :)
