Just got my PR: My story [January 2012 Applicant]

Quick Update: Just got the PR Card for me and my wife. So it took 64 calendar days (roughly the time that was mentioned on the CIC website when we had landed) including postal delays. This is a big relief for us as we were planning to travel out of Canada in December and would had to go through...

Depends where are you originally from ? Have you submitted police certificates from your country of origin as well. If you have lived in a region that has historically been subject to greater background checks .. it may take upto 2 years to get a response to your PR application. I have seen this...

Need info on passport stamping in Detroit

If you do not have any goods to follow or nothing to declare then it is as simple as you mention. However, if you have GTF, you need to have a list of that. Declare all your valuables etc. Amount of money you are bringing in (proof for that etc etc.) Please refer to CIC website regarding all...

All January and February 2012 Applicants

Hi, This is a question for those who have landed already. Any idea when we should be expecting PR cards. The official verdict was 46 business days a few days ago and now it is 55. But I am guessing this is an average number. Some of my friends did get it in 4-5 weeks but this was a while back...

pls help: E-cas shows application received but no AOR on the email

Personally I think its way too early to expect an AoR. Most of us received an AoR 2 months after the file was received. File received status does not automatically mean you should get an AoR. AoR is after initial review of completeness of your docs. This also does not imply that they might not...

do i need reference letter for my part time non-skilled job?

Although it is good to provide it, I personally don't think it is necessary unless you are claiming it as "experience" towards your application. I would advise against claiming such jobs as experience though. You have a valid status of being a student at that point and so you would have no gaps...

reference letters for past three years

If your previous job was not full time i.e. if you were a student and doing some part-time jobs to support yourself and it does not fall under the skill category you are applying for then there is no need to provide a reference letter for that. However, if you were a graduate student and...

Just got my PR: My story [January 2012 Applicant]

Yes you need a visa if you are going to the Detroit Consulate or anywhere that is inside of US for that matter. I mentioned you wouldn't need US Visa for Rainbow bridge was to clarify a lot of doubts that I have seen here of getting a "Reject without Prejudice" stamp on your passport from the...

Just got my PR: My story [January 2012 Applicant]

Immigration Office: Buffalo but it got transferred to CPP-Ottawa in March. T4: I actually attached Tax Returns and not T4s. And when I applied in January 2012 I did not have T4s for 2011 so was exempt I guess. Format: I have explained in an earlier post.

Just got my PR: My story [January 2012 Applicant]

It seems Senorita has clarified most of the doubts regarding extra sheet. I had a couple of these. I filled in the first few in the form and wrote "Continued on extra sheet" on the form. On the extra sheet, I mentioned the form number and the question number I was answering and if it was for the...
