Rec'd PR Card - Full Name Not Displayed

So the name on his card is missing a letter from his middle name... thoughts? I'm on hold with CIC -- do they have a character limit?

    After Landing: Share Your Experiences

Bummed to hear of everyones negative experiences... seems we are some of the lucky ones. I am Canadian, we sponsored my American husband. Our application was processed faster than most (we've been together for 12 years and he is a born US Citizen). I was expecting more of the landing. But it...

Los Angeles Visa Office Applicants Check in here! :)

Yes, Vancouver is lovely today. Just don't try to get to work on time -- the hostage situation on Queensbourough created quite the mess!

Los Angeles Visa Office Applicants Check in here! :)

that makes sense to me --- which is why we were celebrating. assuming that your timeline is similar, then i should be receiving the details next week --- which would be PERfect timing. we both have enhanced drivers licenses, so crossing the border? no problem! we were very lucky in that...

Los Angeles Visa Office Applicants Check in here! :)

Cream Pop --- I took that same statement to mean approval. Does it not? They still haven't updated my E-cas. They received the Passport on October 23. I'm shipping the passport back USPS Express and so I have a tracking number. I basically just track that twice a day (yes, twice a day is...

    US outland applicants' thread :)

E-Cas is the Electronic Check Application Status system and you can check it here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ -- on the right it says "check application status" You will need your application number/file number or receipt number, although mine wasn't visible until I actually got approved as...

Transferred from Buffalo starts you from end of queue?

It was in Buffalo - I was approved in Mississauga as a sponsor, then they sent it to Buffalo. Buffalo closed and then they transferred it to CPPO and then it got transferred to LA. Which is where it is now. For finalization - they have our passport. We wouldn't be here now if your theory was...

Los Angeles Visa Office Applicants Check in here! :)

CP is dreadfully slow. That's why we sent it down to our US address ---- which really is only 2 hours away and we have to go down to land anyway (and move, technically!). We did USPS Express and I've got the tracking number. I check it multiple times a day. It's twisted. I can't wait for it to...

Spousal Sponsorship Outside Canada - Buffalo to CPP-O

Ahh, I read that wrong. I thought you had not included your fingerprint reports, etc. No idea what's holding it up. Have you emailed them to ask if you can get an update? That kicked them into high gear for me.

Question about PPR Timeline from CPP-O

I can definitely understand your frustration. I'd be enraged... maybe it's time to do that CAIPS thing? where you get your notes? That might help. Alternatively, I've seen some people go to their MP.

Los Angeles Visa Office Applicants Check in here! :)

I need to budget! I lack patience. They received mine yesterday. Did you express post back to your US address? I'm hoping to receive by November 2nd... EEK!

    US outland applicants' thread :)

This worked for me too. I basically emailed CPP-O telling them that I was trying to make Christmas plans (this is true) and asked for an update because I didn't want to miss anything while I was away. I received the passport request (they already have our FBI, meidcals, etc) and it was received...

Spousal Sponsorship Outside Canada - Buffalo to CPP-O

NO clue. Yours seems to being held up though because you did not send a complete application. We did - everything was there - medicals, fbi and state clearances, etc. when they received our passport on January 23. We received Passport Req on Oct 9th from LA VO.

Question about PPR Timeline from CPP-O

After Buffalo closed, apparently our file was transferred to CPP-O and then later transferred to LA for finalization. Application received Jan 23, 2012 Sponsorship Approved May 5, 2012 Processing Started July 31, 2012 Notice of Finalization (I'm guessing approval since they asked for the...

We need to go back to the states to land anyway, so we decided to ship the passport (with the paperwork) back to our address in Seattle. We had a family member who was coming up to visit us bring us the USPS Express envelope and required postage. I then went to canada post, got a bubblewrapped...

good enough answer for SPONSORSHIP EVALUATION # 2 ?

Just because you are living abroad doesn't mean you don't have to file taxes.... even if you have no income. I suspect they may have an issue with this. I'd talk to an accountant prior to application. Also, you will very likely require more details about how you met, how the relationship...
