Thank you all for your responses. My friend have just got a call not and email. However he spoke to VFS agent at Hyderabad and even they could not answer, according to them this is the first time they have heard this scenario. I will post you all once he get the passport.

Hello, My friend applied for student and he got the visa last week, yesterday he got a call asking him to re-submit the passport as there was some error, but they have not mentioned what error. My friend is tensed. Can any one help why they might have asked to resubmit?
