    question on AINP

I am a postdoc at UofC and almost got rejected because of CPP and EI desuctions. I talked a lot with the officer and convinced her to wait. Then I asked my supervisor to change my position to research associate that has CPP and EI deductions. Now I am waiting for my pay stub to send it to the...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

Yeah, I saw them and that's what I am talking about. In fact, even those links are reports and statements that are not final and still do not guarantee anything, but they are useful because they give us some insight on what is going on in their heads.

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

I totally agree. I believe this is just waste of time to keep saying what they should do or what is reasonable to do. Also some people keep saying if A then B, but if C, then D. We all know those "if"s. Please share some FACTS or at least news, statements by officials etc. if you know any, and...

They turned our birthdays to a sad event where we lose 5 points.

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

Another example on waste of money, time and energy: Aren't we supposed to be focused and work right now? Instead many of us keep thinking about these s-h-i-t-s, check these forums, spending time (and money on IELTS and other c-r-a-p-s) etc. etc. In mycase, I personally cannot focus on my job...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

When he talks about removing the need LMIA for "some" categories, it can be a concern for all of us, because we might be in "some other" occupations that still need LMIA. It will throw those people deep down in the list!

    AINP-SRS PGWP about leaving job

When the AINP officer called me, I talked a lot with her since my situation was complicated. I told her that I am a co-founder of a company and I am going to work for my company soon. She said if I do so, then I will be self employed, and I will be disqualified because Alberta does not have...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

I had two job interviews, and they both told me that my experience and background was very good and they wanted me. But I told them that I will work for them if they get LMIA for me. The moment I started this subject, they backed off because they did not want to go through the trouble. It is...

R u waiting for AINP nomination

Just a heads-up for some people (especially PostDocs): The job will not be considered as a job if CPP and EI are not being deducted from your paycheck. I ran into problems because of the same reason.

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

I applied for provincial nominee. When I was supposed to hear from them, the officer called me and told me that my job experience is not considered as a job because I don't have CPP and EI deducted from my paycheck. She was about to reject my application, but I argued with her and told her what...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

They have unwritten laws everywhere. This happened for me for provincial nominee. Nowhere in their website they talk about CPP and EI, but I am about to get rejected because of them. Now I am even afraid maybe for EE they don't accept my Canadian work experience for the same reason. This means...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

I was thinking that these types of behavior was related to the previous government. I had 4 years of professional engineering work experience back in my country. They rejected my application in PhD stream (before express entry) because the job definition did not match their definition. I was...

"Ray of hope" thread for 41st draw.

The problem is that I lost almost 40 points because I am married (although I have Canadian kid). After getting ECA for my wife and having IELTS test for my wife we got 18 points and we got CRS of 470, but it is not enough. I still lose 22 points because I am married. My supervisor got LMIA for...
