Optimistic, the TRP wasn't for my wife. it was for my newborn son. They didn't ask us any questions at airport, just stamped on passport and gave him permission to stay in Canada for 1 year and with option of extending it if the sponsorship application delays.

Congratulations Optimistic2. Lucky u it took you only 40 days.. it took us 130 days :d (however we got a TRP, which is eligible for health insurance).

You know what i kinda agree.. call centre are useless.. first agent told me my file is in ottawa, second agent told me my file is in islamabad, third agent told me my file is still in Mississauga.

Btw just a suggestion.. you can apply for Canadian visit visa from abudhabi if you are there on visit visa. their visa processing time in 25 days and they are much more lenient in issuing visit visa compared to Islamabad.

ya they returned everything that i sent them but not the application forms. All the supporting documents and also the print outs of the e-mail conversations that we had.

Did they give a reason for visa rejection?

So today after 128 days of wait they have finally returned the passport with TRV stamped. Alhamdulilah. The kid would be flying to Canada with his mom within a week Inshallah. The kid was 1.5 months old when we applied and now he is almost 5 months old!!!!! cant wait to see him Phew!!!!

beeba.. i am not sponsering my spouse.. I am sponsoring my newborn child and no I havent received any acknowledge letter from ISL or Ottawa. I just received an approval of sponsorship letter.

Shah i think he would be missing some application forms or there might be an issue with some of the documents. they usually don't look at visa applications so early. They probably returned with a note to make some changes before resubmitting it.

Beeba it has been 126 days for me and im still counting.. >:(

Mudaddar, my application was received on 18th July and i already got approved as sponsor on 4th september. Maybe they misplaced your file and just realized it?

You need to call 1-866-242-2100, im not sure what they will ask for.. Maybe you can give the first and last name and ure UCI number (that should be on your PR card). BTW here is something u can try. Go to the website www.cic.gc.ca Check Application Status (on right hand side) enter your UCI...

Just call the CIC number and try to get details from them. It kind of depends on the call centre agent, some of them are helpful and give UCI, others will just ask you to wait for the letter without actually checking in their system. Btw are you sure you mailed the app to the correct address...
