For all those who sent their applications today oct 11 2017 what mistakes did you make?

Mistake 1: Question 11. I put "Yes" checkmark for "I was employed", but forgot to explicitly specify "No" for other options such as "I was in school". Hopefully, it's not a big issue because I was continuously employed by the same company during my whole stay in Canada. Mistake 2: Question 13...

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Who says permanent residents earn less ? To compare fairly, compare a Canadian citizen and a Canadian permanent resident who have the same income. Do they pay the same taxes ? Yes. Are they entitled to the same rights ? No. This means there is an equality. It is only fair if those permanent...

    Bill C-6: Senate stage

Permanent residents are required to pay taxes at the same level as Canadian citizens while being entitled to less rights. It's would be fair to compensate the permanent residents for this inequality by keeping the citizenship application fees low or free.

    citizenship by convenience

Why should I be prevented from traveling and have restricted business and career opportunities just because I was born in the wrong country or to parents with the wrong citizenship, it is not fair. Therefore, I, too, want to become a member of the 1st class citizens club, for example by...

Already Dual citizen of EU and USA and looking forward to be Canadian ....

Other countries don't know that you have other citizenships unless you actually tell them. There is no system in place for broadcasting and synchronizing an individual's citizenship status among countries unless the individual participates in disclosing this information.

Toward Understanding Bill C-6 to Amend Citizenship Act; new 3/5 rule plus

Canada should make it harder to become a citizen, but only after I become a citizen myself 8) If citizenship becomes too easy, other countries will start requiring Visas from Canadian travallers and revoke their Work-Holiday visa agreements

If you renounce birth citizenship, they can't strip you of Canadian citizenship because that would make you stateless. They can't force you to re-apply for the birth citizenship. Also, several countries don't give the "right to get citizenship" to those who renunciated it.

I guess something could be done using the Privacy Act: -Make a Privacy Act request to get a copy of information that CIC holds about you. The information will mention that you are also citizen of country X -Make a request to correct inaccurate information, also using the Privacy Act, citing that...

My birth country doesn't allow renunciation of citizenship. Is there a way to tell CIC that I unilaterally abandon (without the origin's country approval) my citizenship of birth and that they no longer consider me a dual citizen ? I didn't come all the way here to Canada just to be a...

It`s all about status. As a citizen of a 3rd world country, it`s like riding a plane in economy class, nobody gives much *censored word* about your comfort or wellness. As a citizen of Canada or other advanced country, it`s like sitting in the first class cabi with elite frequent flyer status...
