    citizenship oath ceremony

Information regarding that should be included with the notice to appear for the oath of citizenship. For example, mine stated that people could invite a maximum of two guests because of space limitations.

    Should I be worried?

It is normal for there to be a delay between receiving the letter acknowledging they received your application (AOR) and for them to start processing it. The delay varies from person to person (sometimes by a lot). I would recommend calling them if you don't get correspondence from them within...

    October 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Congratulations PVN and Jenny! I am excited to see people updating us with their good news. Would anyone care to share their oath ceremony experiences?

    New column in tracking spreadsheet

I suspect it is because there are so few participants (i.e. sample size) and there are so many factors involved for the additional information to be meaningful. Employment, travel, criminal records, ability to prove intent, etc. are all factors too. But if you are comparing yourself to only a...

    October 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

I didn't know if my eCAS would update to reflect an oath letter, but I logged on today and saw: "We sent you a notice on January 27, 2017 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on February 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM. The notice you will receive will be your...

My eCAS was also changed to "Decision Made" (as of today). Updated the sheet to reflect that.

    citizenship test difficulty level

I agree with the others who suggest reading it at least a couple times. The test was easier than practice tests you find online, but there were a few things that I wouldn't have known without studying (and wouldn't have retained without the reinforcement of the practice tests). The test was by...

    October 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

It means that your application was approved or not (but which one is impossible for us to know). If your application was straightforward, you passed your exam, interview went well, etc. then you can probably expect a positive outcome. You should receive a letter by mail soon. Hopefully you'll...

    Need help?

The question doesn't apply to your child, so you can leave it blank.

    October 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Today my ecas updated. "We sent you a notice on December 21, 2016 to appear and write the citizenship test on January 13, 2017 at 1:15 PM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment."

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

I misplaced my order confirmation, but I ordered it Tuesday or Wednesday of last week and am still waiting for it. I can let you know when it arrives and where it was mailed from, so you can get an idea for the time frame.

    November 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Someone on another thread explained that they don't actually send a physical copy, but you can order one. I am waiting to receive the one I ordered last week from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/discover/index.asp

Thanks, that alleviates my worries that their correspondence is getting lost in the mail. Download it I shall.

It's happening: Bill to repeal Bill C-24

Slightly misleading, but the post is still informative. John McCallum introduced legislation that would repeal parts of C-24: http://news.gc.ca/web/article-en.do?nid=1036039&tp=1&_ga=1.177650403.75381025.1455493552

Ontario PNP (PhD category) now in Quebec

Moving to another province isn't grounds for having your permanent residency revoked (http://www.cleo.on.ca/en/publications/prstatus/what-are-reasons-taking-away-permanent-resident-status). I was curious about whether moving to another province after landing could be considered...
