Repatriating to Canada: Goods to follow

We repatriated from Mexico in July 2020. Check with CBSA for the latest info and forms. We completed Form B4 with many attachments. We didn't ship in a container; if you do, your carrier should be able to handle much of the documentation. We packed and shipped back some art, crafts and music...

New Canada’s National Anthem at Citizenship Ceremony?

I was sworn in Friday, 6 April in Vancouver. They had printed materials with the "old" language ("in all thy sons command"). I was surprised, but sang along anyway. What's important is that you recite the oath; the clerk clearly states that if you don't recite the oath, you don't become a...

Hello, Vancouver citizens! Can you tell me what time your Vancouver office oath ceremony started and how long it took? I'm scheduled to take my oath this Friday, 6 April (hooray!) and need to know the timing so I can make a ferry to Nanaimo after. Many thanks!

I am 66 and applied in September 2017, through the Vancouver office. I WAS required to attend an interview with my original documents (Record of Landing, passport, 2nd government-issued ID). The immigration officer reviewed my CSBA records against my physical presence calculator, and found one...

    September 2017 Citizenship Applications

For those of you who have received your oath invite, especially Vancouver applicants, did ECAS update to let you know that the oath invite had been sent? or did you have to wait for notice by email or snail mail?

    Vancouver applicants - (C-6 10/11)

I applied in September from Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. My interview was on the Island in Parksville. My application seems to have been processed at the same time as other Vancouver office applicants and didn't take any longer for being away from Vancouver. Good luck!

    September 2017 Citizenship Applications

I wish I had thought to ask the officer if I could have my oath same day; I came all the way from Mexico for my interview, and they were conducting an oath ceremony the same time! Oh, well! She said she would "try" to get my an oath ceremony for the week we return to Canada from our vacation...

    September 2017 Citizenship Applications

Interview today in Parksville, BC (Vancouver office). I forgot a THREE WEEK vacation outside of Canada on my physical presence calculator but the official didn’t seem worried at all. No update yet to ECAS, but she did say that the oath should come in 2-4 months and that she would “try” to get me...

    September 2017 Citizenship Applications

We’re on vacation in Mexico, and I’m making a separate trip back to B.C. for my interview! I didn’t even try to re-schedule the interview; it’s almost impossible to reach the call centre and you cannot call from outside the country. Your husband can use the online message function NOW to let CIC...
