Glad to hear slowly everybody is getting news back. My husband got his passport back today with the visa stamp in it so now we just need to buy the plane ticket and make preparations to move! Good luck to those who have yet to hear something back. Your time will come soon, I'm sure :)

    Translation -- Korean to English

You can do that just to be on the safe side but like I said before, we didn't get anything officially notarized as far as I know - maybe they consider a signature from an English university professor/translator enough because that's all we had and we got accepted for PR.

Spouse sponsorship : if sponsor is student

Of course you can - I did the same and it was no problem :) We also did the same thing as ariell; I gave them lots of papers with information about my education, what type of degree it was, print-outs of job adverts of work in my area of study to show I have been job hunting, estimates of how...

Still no passport back with the visa stamp... we sent it two weeks ago tomorrow. So I'm hoping we'll get it back sometime next week! We are applying through London and from what I've heard it usually takes 2-3 weeks to get it back. I'm glad all we have to worry about now is saving up enough...

    Translation -- Korean to English

We did the same, sort of. We translated them together with an acquaintance of ours who is the head English professor out at the university in our city. We didn't get any of the translations notarized and we've also gotten our PPR recently. They haven't asked us for any further documents and...

Woohoo! eCAS was slow today so I figured they were updating the application statuses and I was right! We now have "Decision Made" under my husband's name and they wrote that they got the medicals and reached a decision and all that. Still no news on if his passport has reached London (can't see...

Haha I know! Best of luck to you both, too. Perhaps we can keep in touch when we all move to Canada, as we won't be that far from each other (we're moving to Toronto) :)

Hey everyone, Glad to hear people are starting to hear back with passport requests. For those who haven't yet, don't let it worry you - your time will come very soon, I'm sure :) We just got our PPR yesterday and within an hour of receiving the email, we'd already couriered off my husband's...

Monthly International Money/Bank Transfers - HELP!

Hey everyone, I have a question about banking... We'll be moving in May to Toronto and my husband will be able to keep his job here in Denmark, as it's a work-from-home job. The money he earns from this will go towards paying our rent each month in Canada so it's important that a transfer is...

Yay! We also got ours updated to say "In Process" today... well maybe it was a few days ago, I've been forcing myself not to check every day like I did with the first (sponsor) stage! We're applying through London, so I hope it goes quickly :)

Ours had the decision made and application sent 5 days before yours on December 17th and we still can't see anything on eCAS or received any AOR.

Acknowledgement of Receipt, which you may or may not receive from the visa office you're applying through :)

That's exactly how I felt... like, I don't mind this bit now where everything's gone all quiet because at least I know they have it and they are taking care of it. Needless to say, we've learned our lesson: if we ever have to send them anything, no matter how small or big, we are sending it via...

You can just call them up or send them a letter informing of your address change. I've not personally done it myself but heard of others do it, and they can change it no problem :)

Writing on the back of photos? (Captions)

I wouldn't risk it if I were you, but I don't know if they have specific rules against this. We just stuck post-its on all our pictures, giving the IO's the option to pull them off if they wanted to but also giving an explanation as to what they were, where they were taken, etc.

Sending extra papers to VO that haven't been specifically requested?

Oh I completely agree with the system on this one too! It's just, I've been through the immigration process before when I moved to Denmark and it was utter hell; I just assumed other countries, even if they were more accepting like I know Canada is, would be as strict with their immigration. I...

Sending extra papers to VO that haven't been specifically requested?

I'm a little bit in shock how little emphasis they place on education! I assumed they focused on it a lot more. He's just finished this course with me but was also doing a Philosophy bachelor degree at the same time, which he is still on but should finish by the summer. And as for me, I've...

Sending extra papers to VO that haven't been specifically requested?

I am sponsoring my Danish husband via the London VO; I just got approved to sponsor so our case has now been forwarded to England. He and I just finished a two year higher education course equivalent to one year of a bachelor degree, which we mentioned in our application numerous times...
